The discovery of the Glauberg Celtic Prince in Hesse, Germany, stands as one of the most extraordinary archaeological finds of the Iron Age. Unearthed in 1996 near a monumental burial mound, a life-sized sandstone statue has fundamentally reshaped our understanding of early Celtic elite culture. Dating to approximately 500 BC, the statue and its associated princely tomb provide unprecedented insights into the political, religious, and astronomical sophistication of the Late Hallstatt and Early La Tène periods - and the man at the center of it all may have been as much a druid as a warrior prince.
