In England, the Cuerdale Hoard revealed over 7,000 silver coins and bullion, offering a glimpse into the Viking era. The Staffordshire Hoard, discovered by a metal detectorist, contained 5 kilos of gold and thousands of garnet stones. Reg Mead and Richard Miles spent three decades unearthing the monumental Le Catillon II Hoard, while Sroda Slaska in Poland yielded a crown and precious pendants. Greek divers discovered a sunken trading ship off Antikythera, unveiling glassware, statues, and the groundbreaking Antikythera mechanism. Mel Fisher's search led to the "Nuestra Señora de Atocha," the most valuable shipwreck in the world. Finally, the "San José," carrying an estimated $17 billion in treasure, was located off Colombia's coast.
