Only one problem with that... Skythia is Skye in the Hebrides, home of the Ebra (Hebrew) and Hispania is Lochaber, around Ben Nevis, formerly known as Mount Ispanis and the River Ispanis, now the River Spean (Spain)... as seen online in the old Scottish maps on the National Library of Scotland's website The Egypt in question was England, where there are 14 places known by that name, it was the Land of Ham (Ammon) and the homeland of the Ægyptians... the Gypsies. The Faragh - the Pharaoh - was a ‘Celtic’ clan chief, as was Fenius (Phoenicians) the Irish King who "hailed from Skythia - in the North” - that’s to the north of Ireland. The Pillars of Hercules are the Paps of Jura - the original IONA - and those Hebrew migrants, the Scots/Phoenicians settled finally "in their homelands in the West, where they still live to this day”... the quotes are from the opening lines of The Declaration of Arbroath. The ‘homeland’ in question is Galloway, once Galilee, the Land of the Kenites from Loch Ken... the Tynklers of Little Ægypt - or the ‘King’s Kindly Tenants’ as the Bruce called them when he gave them the four towns of Lochmaben “in perpetuity” for saving the day for him. The Tynklers formed the first Craft Guilds, from which eventually sprang Masonry. If you would like more clarification of this history, my book, ‘We ~ The Skythians - The Lie of the Land of Ægypt’ is to be republished on 11/11/15. There have been many lies told, but the truth is coming.
I read the first two sentences and they were on topic, then I quickly scanned down the length of what immediately became evident was a tangled train wreck of miscellaneous thoughts and ramblings invoking everything from the Romans to 9/11, and there's probably a History of the Napoleonic Wars and a Moon Landing in there too. It's like someone just vomited their brains out all over the comment board.
What a fascinating and strangely beautiful object, and I love the mystery surrounding them – and the debate that they provoke. Some really interesting comments and ideas above. I always hope with objects such as these that we don’t one day discover that their use was for something mundane. However, as long as we don’t know for sure what they were for, they will also continue to inspire interesting ideas.
well put alicia.. this site is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, wheras racism culturalism religionism centricism or any other ism is indicative of ignorance: the exact opposite of what AO is about!
thank you muchly salverda.. then that does give credence to the theory posited in these articles.. it seems like history keeps getting passed down and rewritten from culture to culture
Consider this quote from Herodotus; "but whence the several gods had their birth, or whether they all were from the beginning, and of what form they are, they did not learn till yesterday, as it were, or the day before: for Hesiod and Homer I suppose were four hundred years before my time and not more, and these are they who made a theogony for the Hellenes and gave the titles to the gods and distributed to them honours and arts, and set forth their forms: but the poets who are said to have been before these men were really in my opinion after them." ("The History of Herodotus" 2.53). Now Herodotus lived around 450 BC. And, by his best guess the origins of Greek mythology was no earlier that about 850 BC. 100 years after King Jeroboam had lived. However of the Greek mythographers, whose works have come down to us, were even more recent and, lived after 650 BC.
Modern historians who believe that the "age of Greek Mythology" ran from about 1500 BC. Through about 1200 BC. Are relying on a hypothesized 500 year "Dark Age" for which they can cite no history, and of which the ancient historians make no mention. However most will admit that the myths were not "written" (The Alphabet, brought by Cadmus, himself a character from the Europa myth, has been dated to about 750 BC.) until after the Kingdom of Israel existed.
it certainly sounds like a valid hypothesis.. but does anyone have an accurate dating for the creation of these greek myths that keep being associated with biblical stories? if indeed the bible story came first then it would grant more validity.. like a previous article associating sampson n the foxes with canis major n minor and sampson himself with heracles.. but no mention is made of the DATES!
There are plenty of studies on the impact of modern cities on the environment. Perhaps you have heard of Climate Change or Global Warming? The article even makes reference to such studies when it mentions the Anthropocene Epoch. This website has a particular focus on history and so it is going to report on studies about history. If you are looking for studies on the impact of contemporary society on the environment and proposed solutions, you are one click away from finding it if you actually look.
antediluvian sites are being passed off as “natural” all over the world.. considering that there are only a couple 2nd age constructions left, no terrestrial 1st age sites remain, and the majority of 3rd age sites are underwater one can hardly blame humanity for forgetting that we were once pangalactic:/
it would certainly be interesting to find out what the piece of wood is dated to.. if it verifies your earlier article… http://www.ancient-origins.net/news-history-archaeology/bosnian-pyramid-... and just because i have to OF COURSE conventional archeologist would state this is a “natural” occurance, as it pushes their limits of credulity… i find it much more credible that it is 30kyo, and that most of the pyramids found all over the world(including underwater japan india bermuda) are of a similar age… but people .. arguing ad hominem does NOTHING but prove that there will never be a comparable civilization as those that built the pyramids, cydonia, phobos, iapetus, the type e asteroids, and the moon… we are truly in the last age and unless people can get over the “im better than you” attitude, the wonders that could await us will forever be out of our grasp.. and so i grieve………..

Do you actually expect anybody to read all that?

I use firefox with the ghost blocker, and the site works fine for me.
