The Trinity is not something new to the world. There is a trinity for Hindus--- Brahman, Vishnu, Krishna. There is a trinity for Zoaroastrians also. That was most probably the religion in Ur. Therefore probably the religion of Abram. When God appears to mankind, according to Zoroastrians, it is in the form of fire--- just as God appeared to Moses and also to the Hebrews on the trek to Canaan. I believe that Zoroastrian priests were called magi.

I think this is a very realistic situation. The fact that the DNA markers show eastern Mediterranean gnomes is a good indicator. Another good indicator is that the alloys are very similar and with the right carbon dating test can easily prove the dating. It is an awesome find and I hope they can find more. Another thing to consider is if the romans did land on North America. They were not able to tell their allies in Europe and it would have been completely ignored until now.I think this is a very realistic situation. Joseph - Jesus certainly DID exist - but Jesus 'rising from the dead' is a total myth. Jesus was crucified along with many other unfortunate souls. Jesus had nails driven through his hands and feet and Jesus was stabbed with a sword, but all these injuries were survivable. Jesus was unconscious from blood loss when he was taken down from the cross, but Jesus was NOT dead. Jesus later regained consciousness - and this fact has led to over 2,000 years of this 'rising from the dead' myth. Jesus DIDN'T rise from the dead because he never was dead until many years later. ALL religions are laced with these kinds of incorrect myths.

You sir, are entirely correct in saying that Jesus was a real person yet you are so unfathomably wrong in saying stories about him were not fabricated to indoctrinate people.

"Christianity does not teach that believers should covert others by the sword, and never did."
Clearly you know nothing of the history of your own religion. This statement is the epitome of the chosen ignorance religious people subject themselves to.
Religion is poison and religious people are brainwashed. We live on a rock flying through the universe and you people are still fighting over whose fairytales are the coolest.
By the way, the religion that is trying to take over the world is not so different from the spread of Christianity. The world would be better off without any of it.
Please Google "The Holy Quran Experiment" Enlighten yourself. Free yourself from the poison in your mind.

Really interesting discussion going on here. I have never heard of the Jacques DeMolay explanation. I’m very curious about it all too. But I’m still confused by the two sides.  One is stating that the image on the cloth is proportional and cannot be created by draping over a human body in 3D. It requires a flat surface. That is perfectly logical. The other explanation is that the image is that of Jacques DeMolay. Okay. The historical evidence is strong for that explanation, but several questions pop out at me.

    1. If it is the image of Jacques DeMolay, then either he was considerably thinner than the image, or had a flat face/body.  ???
    2.  If he was ‘nailed to something’ while undergoing torture, fine, but the details are important as the shroud exhibits evidence of crucifixion (hands and feet) and flogging as well as a side wound that bled profusely. Did Jacques DeMolay undergo specifically this torture? Is it documented? And if he did, he apparently survived because it is also put forth he was later publically burned at the stake. If that is accurate, it means THIS ISN’T a death shroud at all? It can’t possibly be his shroud after being burned at the stake, because, how the hair/beard???
    3. The explanation of Jacques DeMolay still doesn’t explain the necessity of a flat surface to create the image on the cloth.

Call me confused. Great discussion tho!

Quite amazing!. The idea of Il Separatio does, in my opinion, have validity and the deeper meaning is quite profound. Unlike the oriental view of existence represented by the symbol of Yin and Yang being part of the one whole, Western thought is dominated by the idea of light and darkness being in eternal opposition. The answer or the way does not lie in the two opposites (our conceptualised ‘God” or the Devil) but in the centre - the source, the formless, the whole, the Tao or that which cannot be named. (The very depiction of Il Separatio appears to be a symbol for the formless.) Once the game of the opposites has been apprehended, the childish games (and form and time-space) transcended, then we can awaken to ourselves and our true nature is revealed and the gifts and the freedom of the spirit (the formless) are ours. The awakened one acting consciously at all times is free of karma - it is only in unconsciousness that karma is invoked.

    Thanks Fellows,'
Some of the superlative guys at the defense and law enforcement site wanted to ostracize me ,when I suggested some of our "surplus" nuclear arsenal(how many times do you need to be able to wipe all life off the surface of the earth anyway?) be used and modified for the possible deflection of massive objects that were threatening the earth, they acted like that was the most preposterous and unworthy idea they had ever heard of(I wish we didnt have any of the accursed things, just a matter of time) Anyway,I believe we shouldnt be burying our heads in the sand, just one large extraterestrial object impacting the earth, will change life(if any remains) forever.
In my opinion,if the work of Cremo and Thompson has any merit, then there will be another clean slate on the earth again anyway, greed seems to be the major shortcoming of the Human species.I wish to express to the PTB,that a fortress or gated community will be of little consequence if a large object strikes the Earth.

You can only go so far when its purely a thought experiment.Sometimes I get the feeling that we are being "Hoodwinked" into believing this earth as it stands is eternal.Perhaps people wouldnt be so malleable,if they understood this can change overnight.

  • Reply to: Archaeologists find 12,000-year-old pictograph at Gobeklitepe   8 years 4 months ago

Admittedly, it has been many years since I took any archaeology courses, but the definition of pictograph was anything that was painted on a wall or structure, while something chipped, pecked, or sculpted was a petroglyph. These images would therefore be petroglyphs. I think also that the definition in the story is misleading, since most rock art does not show a "resemblance to a physical object," but are geometric figures or shallow holes (cupules).

It's also disappointing that there is no mention of methodology in determining the age of these petroglyphs. As I recall, pictographs can often be dated by analyzing organic pigments, but that petroglyphs provide a greater challenge.

years ago had "near" death experience(was declared dead 47 minutes)--as I wandered "heaven" god was hanging out which looked like a bar--drinking a beer--there were pics of naked people on the walls--there was zero judgement there--Jesus told me he died for every persons salvation--everyone-it is uncondtional-but he said everybody would see it the way they needed to based on there own experience-one of the coolest things is now I can heal anything--even death--I am now like a dog, horse or any animal whisperer--maybe they should make a movie,ha!--but there are some animals or people who "short circuit"..guessing they have permanent connections to the dark side---go ahead and believe what you want--don't matter...it is all cool..don't know when,or how, but do know something very bad is going to happen to this planet--with in 5 years but only guessing..peace

I was just wondering the tricks and tips people are using in those days.

Gosh Allen, did you remember to account for the Jew in the image having very thick Jewish hair? Likely a Nazarene, his thick uncut hair was probably flush with his cheeks. So much for the tent effect.......much more significant check out the site newgeology.us The image on the shroud still cannot be made today, much less then. Still, there is another possibility you haven't considered. He's worth your best effort to learn the truth. Blessings!

Osiris, as to your all too brief references to John, in the Greek the text indicates a vinegar wine was given, not a narcotic as you propose. As to merely unconscious, no, Jesus was dead. The text leaves no other option. The soldier made sure. He stabbed Jesus in his side with a spear--blood and water poured out. Later, the Greek recprds the large amount of the spices-- customary for burial of a prominent Jew--was certainly not intended for healing. (c'mon, Osiris, you suggest 75 lbs for healing?) Study the four earliest records of Jesus, also Acts and Paul's Epistles. Also Flavius Josephus, a Jewish historian, and Tacticus, a Roman Historian. I once trusted the pseudo arguments from the closed minds of determined skeptics until I finally dug deeper on my own. That was forty two years ago. Oh, what a joy! As Jesus promised, " Know the truth and the truth will set you free."

As for the shroud being the possible burial cloth of Jesus, here's a site with something to get you thinking with a wide-open mind again: newgeology.us

    Blessings always in Christ!
