I try to read most of the comments here , but I would like to add something to the main article .
Dr. Poulianos in 1996 made new discoveries at Petralona caves and specially he found primitive stone and quartz tools among a human shin that was calculated to be of standing man , the surprising in that discovery is that many institutes around the world , accorded that the age of the bone and tools are 11 - 12 million years old. For the dating was used cave stromatography and electron spin . The age for "Lucy" from Africa is 3- 4 million years .
So I wonder , why a human to live in a place that reach 50 to 60 Celsius the day , when he could live and prosper better in a temperate clima , with better water reservoirs, better fishing areas, and better hunting possibilities .
if the person was wrapped on it when you took it out of the body it would be very deformed, try it, wrap something that have paint on it and then open the fabric. as angeblackmon said, there is too much detail, it was planed
I hardly care which theory is correct but to say flatly from genetic evidence of a single burial that the matter is finally disposed of strikes me as nigh unto intellectual dishonesty. Please, a little more academic restraint and a little less blatant cheerleading for a pet theory.
maybe i'm not well enough versed in super old fabrics and whatnot, but i personally feel like there's almost too much detail in it...but i am obviously no expert.
a Knights Templar dies in Jerusalem but his request is to be buried in his home country, possibly Germany. His brethren wrap his body in this cloth for transport, they travel several weeks or months, during this time the cloth soaks up the oils from the body especially during the time it spends in the hot climate of the Mediterranean, than at their destination they unwrap the cloth and are amazed at how similar their fallen brother looks to the most common depictions of Christ.
They get the idea or rather they see this as a sign, and say they brought back the "real" cloth Jesus was buried in.
the facial reconstruction of the nephilim / Paracas skulls .... compare to the shroud face.
Some have long speculated that they'll do dna tests on the shroud and ... voila ! ... it's the same as the 'royalty'
The reasoning of this post is at least pathetic, anyone with a modicum of intelligence and a bit of study to be able to distinguish biblical phraseology and understand that there is only one true and Supreme God and other gods are created gods as idols or even demons called themselves gods.
This must have been before Papyrus, why else carve that into stone, that process takes much longer. They must have wanted this to last for a long time to encourage students of all generations. Plus this offers good insight to the mentality of the period.
I have read theories that the watery area of venice was caused by man, diliberate or not. The theory was put out there that the canals were done to habdle some flooding and to give Venice and parts of Florence to draw people and culture to that area of Italy.
I would be willing to accept they had a form of concrete, but I will not jump to conclusions in regards to this article. I want to wait til the evidence and facts come in. It is possible but we do not know if it was carved in rock or not. I could imagine that at some point along the irrigation line they may have come to a point where there was no exposed rock.
I hope they find some artifacts that can shed light on this area of the world. It does shed light on how far irrigation has come since then. It is amazing to think that they had an irrigation system that vast, all those years ago. When people, of any age, meet obstacles, they over come them in any manner.
Wow, what an impressive first year you've had! I love everything about this site. Thank you for all you do to pull the latest news together in such a timely manner and share it with us. Congratulations!
it is also possible this is actually formed poured concrete and not solid rock at all - there are some archaeologists who claim that a lot of ancient 'rock' could be an unknown type of cement - these strange 'carvings' also look as tho they might be the result of supports to hold a cement ?? This idea of old concrete would explain so many apparent huge stones and structures that cannot be duplicated even now - everything scientists call 'fact' is only a theory anyway, so we just have to keep throwing out the ideas until we find the best solutions to all these mysterious 'buildings' . What fun !!
and the proportions are not right for something that was wrapped in someone's body. if it was real the image should be much worse than that, but since it's a photo...
Here you can navigate quickly through all comments made in any article sorted by date/time.

there is no organic substance in the drawn part other than the fabric itself, as i said, the image is burned. there have been extensive tests on it.
very interesting....a little gruesome, but i always like to hear about when women ruled the world! :)
I just watched a show on the History Channel about the Clovis people. Quite the interesting bunch.

Make sense? I think so.
This man looks very Teutonic, he was probably a Knights Templar

"The debate about Native American origins is far from over".
April shouldn't that be it's finally started?
