What is wrong with our governments? do they not have any interest in holding on to any of our heritage. It really shocked me when I seen the skellig islands going to be used as a film set for star wars, and then our beautifull hill of tara being destoryed. Please stop all this

Seeing the Irish Cross in the last picture reminded me of a video I watched recently. It claims that the Irish Cross started as a math and navigation tool.

No doubts we come from Neanderthals. We're white skin, blond hair and blue eyes and more aggressive than other human species.

Problem is my friend you will have been taught the status- quo. Recent finds by the University of Tel-Aviv in Israel have also found giant skeletons. Plus an enormous wall with stones over 3000 tons each has just been discovered in Siberia - archaeologists just as puzzled as you are.
Karen Chin a Chinese/American scientist just found hominin bones in the coprolites of a T.Rex in the USA.1.8 million years ago - work that one out. History is bullshit my friend. Read my book 'The Third Explanation' Amazon. I was a science journalist for thirty years.

Pathetic statement coming from a guy living in the US poo pooing on an Englishman traveling what is today still an extremely dangerous area of the Amazon. Of course he used indigenous peoples, he would be an idiot if he didn't. The "miracle" is the fact you don't understand what a saying means to the reader. Instead you ignorantly keyed onto the word miracle as if he really meant it was mystery as to how he survived so long by himself... It's not like this was Fawcett's first time to the rodeo and if you read his accounts you would understand there were other opportunities for his untimely death. Keep hating Americans even though you live with them troll.

Grakliani Hill discoveries are worldwide significance - there is no doubt, and I am glad for that.
There are also several noteworthy architectural monument and grave inventory about Grakliani Hill:

    2. Arched alter - must be dated on the verge of the VII-VI centuries
    3. Cult and store room are connected with each other
    4. The fragment of terracotta figure - protoma, the head of an animal discovered in the layer of the 7th century BC
    5. Samples of interrelation with Achemenid culture - golden, silver and bronze disc with ornament of Achaemenid type
    6. Bronze fibulas of Greek world/Anatolia
    7. Egyptian scarab with hieroglyphic written
    8. Finally also important, two seals from Southern Mesopotamia - such analogues are revealed in the materials in Jemdet-Nasr period and must belong to 3000-28000 BC

This descendant of ungrateful white Europeans would be thrilled to read other histories. You've got history books written by Amazonian and North American tribes?? That's amazing.

If you get a chance, you might want to look up the definition of the word "indigenous"--you know, since most of the North American tribes have traditions saying they came here from somewhere else.
Take your time though. It must be tiring, carrying that giant chip on your shoulder everywhere you go.

But still the un-answered question. Where did we come from ? Wy are there no modern humans and then on an archeological scale, suddenly there are ? Most mutatons in higher life form result in non-viability in fetuses and death in adults. So what happened to just suddenly make a new species (us) appear ?Obviously the planet has been here long before we were.

FYI Doggerland or Doggersland is named after the Dogger(s)-sea-bank. The Dogger(s)bank is on the British, Dutch, Danish and German part of the continental plane. So it's not just British.
The name comes from 'dogger' which is a ship for catching cod: the old Dutch word for cod is: 'dogghe'.
An interesting spot in the sea where both in the 17th century and in WWII some famous sea-battles have been fought.
Both British and Dutch researchers (and others?) have put a lot of effort researching Dogger(s)land geographically as well as archeologically.
It would be great if Doggersland indeed had something to do with Atlantis. So I'm very curious as well!

Why is it that we have to be the exception?

When you look at the diversity that exists in other families, our species does possess the unique characteristic of not sharing another relative.

But has it always been this way?

The fossil record has hinted at a possible coexistence within the distant past members of our species. Homo neanderthalis coexisted with Homo sapiens, Homo denisova, Homo florensiesis and now, this "Atapuerca" man.

Is it difficult to believe that all members independently evolved with an occasional gene swap?

The old theory of linear evolution for the animal Homo can't die soon enough.

  • Reply to: Elfdalian, the Ancient Viking Forest Language of Sweden, Set to be Revived   8 years 9 months ago
    Comment Author: Claudette Cohen

(Övdalsk or Övdalską in Elfdalian, Älvdalska or Älvdalsmål in Swedish)
Elfdalian or Övdalian is a North Germanic language spoken by c. 2,000 people who live or have grown up in the parish of Övdaln, which is located in the southeastern part of Älvdalen Municipality in Northern Dalarna, Sweden.

Like the other Nordic languages, Elfdalian developed from Old Norse, a North Germanic language that was spoken by inhabitants of Scandinavia and inhabitants of their overseas settlements during the Viking Age, until about 1300. It developed in relative isolation since the Middle Ages and is considered to have remained closer to Old Norse than the other Dalecarlian dialects.
Example: Oller so og ų og neve ð åvå. all who eyes and nose have...

Elfdalian has little if anything to do with elves. However, it is quite a strong candidate for the Voynich manuscript, a strange medieval manuscript no one has been able to read.

The whole idea that humans evolved “up” from lesser creatures like Lucy needs to go into the trash heap of bad science.  Same with the timelines, which all depend on each other for their dates, with no actual science behind any of them.

Instead of believing in the pseudo science of evolution, the time has come for people to take a new look at the evidence in light of the actual science of genetics.  The real science of genetics shows that humans have gone through terrible times in the last 100,000 years, almost dying out completely.

Genetics tells us that when populations become too small, mutations happen.  Genetics tells us most mutations lead to serious problems for the species.

I think the observations from anthropology, combined with the observations in genetics, show that over the last 50 to 100,000 years or so, something terrible happened to humans and we almost died out.  As a result, tons of mutations occurred.  Over thousands of years, with interbreeding, the mutations stabilized into what we today call homo sapiens sapiens, a mutated lesser version of earlier humans.

Homo erectus, neanderthal, etc, did disappear.  They melded together in a huge sexual revolution, creating us.  We have become a much smaller, weaker, and less intelligent version of the prior humans who inhabited this planet before the great catastrophe(s).
