musical styles varied widely, particularly folk music - not a lot of it has survived because it wasn't recorded in formal books like "classical" music, but enough that we know it was widespread and extremely popular.
having words with more than one meaning is universal to language. You are also referring to "connotations", not actually more meanings. german has only about 20% of its words with more than one sense, whereas all words everywhere have connotations that do not translate exactly.
music is not music. firstly because there are high-pitched frequencies that adults cannot hear, secondly because the child brain is highly distinct from the adult brain and more or less sensitive to a huge variety of different stimuli from complex ones like faces to simple ones like light.
so basically there is a lot more going on here than you are informed of, but only because you are pretty uninformed.
The writer's final remark discredits him and what he has to say earlier. How can he be sure about this?
Second, I do hope the writers of this ancient script knew when a sentence was over: "The Dispilio tablet was one of many artefacts that were found in the area, however the importance of the table lies in the fact that it has an unknown written text on it that goes back further than 5,000 BC."
Accounting.
The symbols are for accounting purposes. As soon as people stopped being hunter-getherers settled and started farming they needed logistics managements and some sort of IOU system.
All the other stuff: religion, epic stories came later. That was the oral tradition.

The letters are very much like Phoenicians, they were the first to write as far as we know. I am not sure whether the dating is accurate, the article mention C12 method , not sure what does that mean but carbon dating methods has proven to be far from accurate, it usually indicate the 5000 years margin.
All true, but get this....I posted the information about the DNA testing release on the Peruvian skulls on GRAHAM HANCOCK'S Facebook page, and he put it down saying it was unconvincing. I don't know exactly how much convincing he needs beyond the obvious humanoid nature of the skulls and the DNA results that back that up. It surprised me for a man academia has panned forever for his theories and who has resisted that. When I posted more information from another site, Graham deleted my posts. Would we call this censorship???
Perhaps one should not be such a stick in the mud and belittle others opinions. Archaeologists of repute??? Their story is as it always has been and always will be and anyone who says differently will be shunned and kicked out of the club. I’ve seen reputations ruined because someone dared to make a discovery that doesn’t fit into their neat little box. Do you realy think they will even allow it into a scientific journal? Not a chance. Either it’s a bound head or a birth defect period. That’s what they have said for years and the evidence will be dismissed as contaminated. That’s the way they think and act.
The real terrain image here, is also on the LIDAR image.
If you look at the bottom of the LIDAR image, where there is a larger Bay that is covering a slightly smaller Bay -- those are the main and secondary forest-covered Bays in the real terrain image.
Personally I don't think it would turn to water, because the latent heat of melting and then vaporisation of ice is very large. Larger than most solids-liquids. I think it would exceed the capability of the impact. In addition, ice is quite a good insulator, so the heat would not have time to spread effectively, in the instant of impact.
But if you have a spare Cray computer, and a fat Climate Change grant, we could always try. Ah, sorry, I forgot, those are only for CO2 research. ;-)
Why don't you have some "faith" in evolution as you do in your religion. It's incalculable the number of bones that have been destroyed by man unintentionally. Also it would be wise to take the world's different climatic conditions into consideration as in Africa and Southern Asia there is generally higher acidity levels in soil and that tends to break down the anatomy faster. Also if you look at areas like Iraq for example there are deserts and caves that would be able to preserve these fossils. Particularly in Europe too with the cold conditions aiding to preserve fossils. I'm telling you Neanderthal Man was real and we as man owe them a debt of thanks for the culture and insight to ponder our origins and (unfortunately) to comfort ourselves into thinking there's more than this life. We're just the lucky apes in my opinion.
I know this might have seemed like a rant, forgive me for that it isn't my intention. I really feel strongly about evolution since I first fully grasped it. I'm only 18 as well and I do respect an opinion of those that are older than me and have had more time to reflect on it. All I ask is that you consider my thoughts before rejecting it, thank you!

If you would like to read Ralph's full and more detailed article about the Carolina Bays, it is on the Academia, edu site on the following link. This, and the Ice Age article, have pushed Ralph into the top 0.5% of contributors on Academia, edu:

This is Ralph's second climate article, which deals with as yet unknown mechanism for Ice Age modulation. The Ice Age article is interesting, because it strongly suggests that CO2 is not the primary feedback-warming agent for our climate.
The real modulator of earth temperature and climate is albedo, not CO2. And if this is true then Western governments are wasting something like $100 to $200 billion a year of our money on a non-problem. Please remember that there has ben no Global Warming for 18 years.
Here you can navigate quickly through all comments made in any article sorted by date/time.
none of what you just said is true.

Whenever 3400 years ago comes up we should consider the eruption of Santorini.
Two things.

Hey Jo. We don’t have access to more photos. Sorry.

I'm sorry to say I have to agree. I expected more.
“When I posted more information from another site, Graham deleted my posts. Would we call this censorship???”
I would. GH has contributed a lot to his field and is certainly deserving of respect, but IMO he does occasionally dabble in absurdity.Nice to see the screen capture of A Canterbury Tale, thats where I first heard of these hands of glory, from that very film :D

Saw this in Whitby Museum not so long ago. Quite gruesome and macabre – a real “horrible history” relic.
Interesting article – many thanks!
