UFO ORIGINS

Hi

My name is John, i’m 57 and live in Manchester England, i have a general interest in Archaeology.I am am also a christian who believes we are now living through the period covered by the Book of Revelations & how the UFO phenomemon is linked to this.

Introduction.

Hi. I’m Caitlynne, from Tennessee. I’m not great with words and sometimes get ahead of my self without putting in a lot of thought, but I’v always loved history and someday aspire to be an archeologist. I love reading about lost civilizations, mythical creatures and places, and the latest in archeaological news.

Caitlynne Anne Nicole Allison

Hi, Caitlynne!

Auntie g here. Glad to see “a young person” interested in the ‘PAST’.   At your time of life, we’re usually too self-involved to be interested in anything outside the window of daily life.  Congrats on being outwardly engaged, and welcome aboard.  I, to, am fascinated by the archaeology of our “globe.”  I find interesting things about every land mass that exists today, and am thrilled at the “newly-discovered” places that existed before the last “global meltdown;”  huge cities, buried in 300+ feet of water off the coasts of every continent that exists today . . . and the possibility of the existence of others we have yet to “discover.”  You?

So, tell us about "you," William

Do you allow other people to call you Bill, for instance?  Or, are you the “strictly William” kinda guy?  What brings you here?   g

Hi

I am from India and I am deeply interested in link between Hinduism and Science.  My belief is that Religion and Science complement each other and are actually not much different.

If anyone has any material on the same please mail me on [email protected].

Thanks….

New Member

Hello from Alabama, USA! Now that I am retired and have time to follow a few interests, this looks like a good place to do so! While there do not appear to be all that many active members, it does appear to be an excellent site where people have open minds, receptive to the unconventional possibilities inherent in history. History, as taught in our schools and universities, is a far cry from "reality," and far too much is swept under the rug and ignored. Just because there may not be a definitive explanation for something at the present time is no reason to just plain ignore it, particularly when it could have a great impact on how we view history, and, indeed, our own existence! "Conventional history," for example, can't even explain the sudden rise of the Sumerian Civilization, and even the conventional historians are forced to admit they haven't a clue where the Sumerians came from, or how they acquired their comprehensive knowledge (some of which we still use today, the 12" foot, the 360 degree circle, the 60 minute hour, etc.). Amazing how much is swept under the rug! At any rate this seems to be a good website, and a fair Forum, and will provide much food for thought.....and, perhaps, a few answers along the way!

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

Hallelujah, Mr. Clue!

May I call you “Ain’t”??  I share your opinion on what “we” loosely refer to as “the history of the world and its inhabitants.”  I, also, believe that “those in power,” now and always . . . have intentionally kept this knowable information “to themselves,” as one way to “keep us” – as my father used to say - “fat, dumb, and happy.”   Only recently has it become possible to search for and find things/people/information that, until now, were “lost to time,” and to begin to see the extent of our collective “ignorance.”  I, for one, relish the idea that soon it will be all but impossible to hide the past from everyone!  YOU?

Origins

I’m really interested to hear solid theories that explain the origin of man among any other unanswered questions that pertain to life.

damned2hell4ever

Man's origin

There are basically only two theories of "origin," with a number of "spin-offs" from each of the two primaries.
1. "God did it." The "creation by God" theory.
2. "Evolution." Basically that we are all descended from one or more of earth's "primate" lineages.

Some have tried combining the two, evolution as the initial origin, with various "gods" (aliens, actually) showing up and either interbreeding with the evolved humans, or deliberately engaging in genetic manipulation of groups of evolved humans. Some even say that "Caucasians" were brought to earth from elsewhere, and the Bible is the history of that "colonization." Some say that "Caucasians" are the result of genetic manipulation by aliens (gods), as it is that group that seems to be responsible for the sudden eruption of "full-blown civilization," with no evidence of any prior, prehistoric development.

There are any number of "possibilities," but in the end, you have basically only two choices - Either some "God(s)" are responsible for CREATING man (or a specific group of humans), or "Evolution" accounts for human existence, whatever may have taken place AFTER the origin of "man."

Personally, I believe evolution accounts for the origin of "humans," and that later on, we were visited by aliens (the gods), and, at that point, deliberate genetic manipulation took place, likely to "speed up" the evolutionary process for those who underwent the genetic manipulation. That seems to be the "theory" that, in my opinion, best accounts for the history of the various groups of "humans" on earth and the origin of "civilized existence" as well.

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

Slight delay

Well I’ve been here over a year now and never bothered to check the site out properly, you’ll just have to pretend I’m new. So, my name’s Will, I'm a Cornish guy and I’m interested in history, medieval technology and generally the way of life my ancestors had. I also like to forget stuff as soon as I find it irrelevant, unless it involves tin streams, I’ll usually be found exploring them. Exploring anywhere else where I live usually involves the risks of falling down some very deep pits which I like to avoid doing.

In Anglia et Cornubia.

Hello Everyone!

I really like this site. All of the articles will keep me busy for hours. My interest includes the study of Egyptian history, world history, and prehistory. I am also fascinated by the lost civilization of Atlantis and all of the locations where Atlantis has been found. Anyway, I hope that someday researchers will find the real  Atlantis.

Introduction

Hi my name is George and I am 65.  I have a Christian religion degree, and have been interested in archeology and history for many years. I have found that history is not fully found in schools or text books, and maybe some truths are even hidden from those who do not search.  Thank God for the internet! I really enjoy the wealth of diversity and perspective found in Ancient Origins. I am a new Gold member and look foward to the continued expansion of understanding man’s history. I am really interested in the antimainstream views of ancient man, god, and I have pet peve for giants.

Discussion of Ancient Mysteries

Hi George,

Welcome to Ancient Origins, I am interested in discussing a number of subjects including Atlantis, Noah’s Flood, the pyramids of Egypt and the pyramids of  the Americas. I think all of them are related. If you would like to discuss any of those areas, let me know. I have been researching them for over 20 years.

Dennis

Pyramids

Welcome to AO. You'll find a lot of food for thought here! Regarding the pyramids, particularly the Giza complex...new research has pushed back their possible origin to at least 11,000 years ago. Mankind's history on earth goes back MUCH farther than conventional science cares to admit.

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

Historical Research

Anyone who expects to find historical truth in school textbooks is an idiot. Conservative archeology, conservative anthropology, all have their "established truths," and don't much appreciate discoveries that contradict or raise doubts about those "truths." So much has been swept under the rug over the years the rug is beginning to develop a hump!! Mankind's history on earth goes back a LOT farther than conventionalist will ever admit, and new discoveries keep pushing that date back further and further. You will find that thinking outside the box and paying attention to new discoveries that are NOT touted in the mainstream will provide you with much to think about. Ancient Origins is a pretty good website....probably one of the best you will find for keeping up with some of these discoveries. Welcome to AO and happy hunting!!

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

Windover Bog Grave

What do you think of this graveyard found on the Florida Plain. I believe that the bodies are over 11,000 years old. According to the dateing scale, they could be between 7,000 and 14,00 years. The reesearchers chose the lower number:

Windover Bog Graves

Dennis

Windover Bog

I personally would tend to go with the older age. I believe the site evidence supports an age of 10-14,000. The lower age suits conventionalism and that is why they chose it for publication in the "official" reports.

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

A comet strike took place during that time.

During the time when the bodies were being buried in the bog, the North American Comet Catastrophe happened, 10,900 BC Part 1.  This link leads to part one of the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1GCgOI3B1o&t=323s  If you have time, listen to all the parts over a period of time. I believe that this strick was ground zero for a new beginning in the people of America. It destroyed the older civilizations so the survivors had to start over. What do you think?

Dennis

Comet strike

I believe that is correct. In North America there have been many discoveries you won't find in the newspapers or mass media. It's an older book, but I'd recommend Dr. Barry Fells, "America B. C." There is factual, documented evidence of Roman soldiers/Hebrew explorers in N. America prior to 100 BC (and artifacts as well), and there is evidence of mining in the upper mid-west that goes back to around 4-5,000 BC. Celtic structures have been found in New England and Canada. The Mic-Mac native Americans had a language that very closely matched ancient Egyptian (circa 1-2,000 BC). There are many more, but I'm sure you get the picture. Conventional science is not giving us the full story, and don't even want to admit there IS more to the story!! My personal belief is that mankind has had to "start over" several times, and could quite possibly have been here MILLIONS of years ago. New discoveries in NW India, for example, have pushed back the earliest known "organized cities" well beyond 8,000 BC....Bhimbetka, for example goes back to at least 10,000 BC.

History is nowhere near as well known as we think it is.

Nasca mummified remains/ bands of holes/goeglyphs

Hello, I have, as far back as memory serves me, been fascinated with the idea that mankinds origins are linked to the heavens.
Articles that I have read over the years,  seem to link together, connecting in a way much the same  as a puzzle or mosaic.

Reading about the band of holes, I could not help but be drawn to a connection between them and the dozens of other geoglyphs found in the high plains.

What came to mind almost immediately was a message board of sorts, with the holes being much like the holes in the old computer punch cards, or perhaps even like more modern pixels.

And as to the mummified remains, I have developed a theory, in which what many are referring to as aliens, were in fact the first inhabitants of Earth, and possibly Mars, prior to a merging of our solar system with another, causing cataclysmic collisions on both our planet and Mars, forcing the inhabitants to leave the planets surfaces and take up residence aboard space stations/vehicles/platforms/ect, at a safe distance, until such time as conditions on one or both worlds might facilitate theri return. It is my belief that these three fingered mummified remains, are in fact, remains of these “original earthlings”.

Hello Ancient Origins Community

I have been a fan of this site for a while and just got into Friday Live Streams with Ashley Cowie. I made the decision this week to become a premium gold member. Some of my interests are in the mythology of the Incas, Mayans, Aztecs, and some of the less heard of mythologies of the Berbers. There are so many fascinating things about our history of what we know and what is still left to be discovered.

I’m looking forward to exploring what my membership has to offer!

Best Wishes,

Mexico City Was the City of Atlantis

Hello AT,

I have evidence showing that Mexico City was once the Lost City of Atlantis; would you like to explore that possibility? What questions can I answer that would make you believe that the theory might be true?

Dennis

Mexico City

Dennis,

What type of evidence have you uncovered that has lead to the possibility of Mexico City being the Lost City of Atlantis?

Evidence of Atlantis

The evidence comes from three sources: Plato’s Story of Atlantis, another book called “Our Story of Atlantis,” and one of the actual terrain features they both describe as being part of the Atlantis continent. Even though the sources and evidence may seem questionable and circumstantial, the two book describe this one large terrain feature that stands out among all the rest. There is no way Plato and Dr. W.P. Phelon could have gotten together to deceive the public. Plato published “Critias” in about in 360 BCE, and Dr. Phelon published his book in 1903. Both men thought they were describing a sunken city.

Dennis

Here is the terrain feature. We know it as Florida.

Both men called the Florida Plain, the Plain of Atlantis. Here is one example.

Dr. Phelon:

“This city was across the gulf from the immense plateau occupied by the grand city. It covers upwards of 75,000 square miles and had been cultivated from time immemorial and was one vast garden. This plain was liberally irrigated from the river, which was a canal 600 feet in width and 100 feet in depth, extending around the plain 1,2OO miles. Not only were these waters used for irrigation, but through a system of locks at the port, galleys could be raised and lowered into the Grand Canal where they both received and distributed cargo.”

Plato:

“Looking towards the sea, but in the centre of the whole island, there was a plain which is said to have been the fairest of all plains and very fertile.”

“The whole country was said by him to be very lofty and precipitous on the side of the sea, but the country immediately about and surrounding the city was a level plain, itself surrounded by mountains, which descended towards the sea. It was smooth and even, and of an oblong shape, extending in one direction three thousand stadia, but across the centre inland it was two thousand stadia. This part of the island looked towards the south, and was sheltered from the north.”

Appalachian Mountains surround Florida tot he North. How did Plato know this?

Dennis

Mexico City

Dennis,

What text can I find Dr. Phelon’s research on the possible location of Atlantis?

Cities of Atlantis

Find this quote on page 87. The author is referring to the city of cities (Mexico City) as the city of Atlantis. The other city which is part of Atlantis, is on the Florida Plain across the Gulf of Mexico:

Here is the link to the book “Our Story of Atlantis, scroll down.

http://www.hermetics.org/pdf/ancient/W.P._Phelon_-_Our_Story_of_Atlantis...

“From the mountains the city of cities extends in a circular form southward. Beyond the immense area occupied by the city proper is still another, comprising upwards of 75,000 square miles, which has been cultivated from time immemorial, and is in fact one vast garden. This is liberally irrigated from the river and from a canal 600 feet in width and 100 feet deep, extending through the country 1,2OO miles. Not only are these waters used for irrigation, but through a system of locks at the port, galleys are raised and lowered into the grand canal, where they both receive and distribute cargoes of all kinds of products in the interests of commerce.”

The first city of Atlantis was situated on the Florida Plain across the Gulf of Mexico from the second larger city. The building were washed away, but the canals are still in place. I will send you a link.

Dennis

Mexico City as Atlantis

Dennis,

Thanks for providing that link for Dr. Phelon’s research! I have never heard Mexico City proposed to be a possible location for Atlantis. The last I had heard was that Bimini was a possible contender.

Hello everyone! I am Chad and

Hello everyone! I am Chad and I have an interest in Celtic ruins and mythology. While I am skeptical of many ideas that are floated around on this site, I really enjoy the site, because it exposes me to new ideas and I get to learn about ancient sites that are not well known.

Hello

Hi Chad! It’s nice to see you here!

Hello to all.

I guess we do all share the same doubts, indeed we do know nothing about our past.

Cheers.

Hello people! My name is

Hello people! My name is Volodymyr Krashevskiy. I live in Ukraine. By specialty I am a historian, although I work in another field, but I am interested in history. I like this site very much. Watching the video of the authors of the site, Ashley Cowie and Aiprile Holloway, on YouTube, when they took the camera or mobile phone back to historic sites, conducted their survey, telling their story by filming it all on the video, it seemed to me that they had opened a new research methodology when thanks to the Internet you can acquaint the viewers with a certain historical monument or historic event by studying history for themselves and society not from books or the internet, but live. I believe that every researcher of the past has not only to sit on a computer monitor, write article on the Internet, but take a camera or cell phone and take video for his video blog on the Internet about some historic place he visited. Such a technique is much better than sitting in books or the internet in that the person who studies the past acquaints himself and the audience with him alive with him. Of course books, the Internet, writing articles, searches, materials in libraries and on Internet sites, too, should have weight, but more importantly, when the researcher takes a camera or the phone will visit a historic place, take a video of his survey, and tell him about it history

ME & The Crypto-Terrestrials

I bumped into this forum when researching crypto-terrestrials (per MacTonnies). That is either humans survivors of a cataclysm in the past (perhaps 12000 years ago as suggested by Hancock) or possibly the survivors of a cataclysimic events on Mars or some other place in the solar system who may have taken refuge to the earth in small numbers and may still be hiding in uderground or underwater facitlities. So far all I get is ads … not sure I want to stay here.

Is anyone else interested in the same topic?

Crypto-Terrestrials . . .

OK;  I’ll bite . . . define that for me, and, who are MacTonnies and Hancock???  g

Auntie G

HELLO!

Hi! My handle is Auntie g. I’m in Arizona, USA.  I have been a member for a couple of years.  My interests are mostly, historical and archaeological.  I love seeing places recently discovered, after having been buried for “eons.”  The older, the better.  I love seeing “mainstream scientists” surprised by the intelligence and determination of our ancestors, and, how long “we’ve” been doing things they don’t ever expect!  I’m, also, a bit of an “alien interference” nut.

Did they:

  1.  create us;
  2.  just help us;
  3. try to destroy us . . .

Seems there’s just too much “stuff” about “the ancients” out there – in every old society – so many questions/not enough answers.  Enjoy your discoveries!
