Norse Tales, Norse Wisdom Storytelling Evening with Andreas Kornevall

Two magical tales form the first part of the evening:  the Norse Creation Myth and the story of the Birth of Wisdom, which are performed with musical accompaniment: musical instruments such as the Swedish traditional fipple flutes and drum.

The second part of the evening is a presentation and participatory discussion: Andreas will explore the Uthark rune-row used by many contemporary Seiðr (shamanic) practitioners today and unveil some more unusual and beautiful rune rows that have been largely forgotten from Norway and Sweden. The discussion will explore rituals and initiations that the Norse myths and culture, and reflect upon ways they can inform the growth towards wisdom in life today.

Andreas Kornevall is a Swedish storyteller, mythographer, writer and environmentalist living in East Sussex.  His stories have appeared in publications including Dark Mountain Books, Resurgence Magazine, Permaculture Magazine, and The Ecologist.  He contributes to Ancient-Origins.net, has worked with Sussex Past (the oldest archaeological society in the UK) and is active with Sweden’s “Forn Sed” (Old Customs Association).
