This is really good to know that this location was good for giving these ancient and recent people a good place to live an Neolithic and agrarian lifestyle.  Location is half the battle. Out of the rain and enough space to domesticate animals. I wonder if there were any native carbs in the area at the time.

I don't think octavian was so master a politician, he was good i'm sure. Not destroying egypts constructions is not a sign of brains, it would have cost Way too much money to,, destroy egypts vast amount of buildings thus history, which may be more numerous than rome. And they were in deserts as well. And the war did result in the burning of the Alexandria library :( I don't blame Cleopatra for that..
And, it was Julius Caesar who listened to Cleopatra, when she told him about egypts solar calender, he accepted it and adapted rome to it, and the result is the calender we have today. That was not only brains but heart as well :)

The one statue pictured looks eerily similar to an alleged dead alien woman referred to as, "Mona Lisa", that was believed to have been found in an ancient crashed space ship on the moon during a covert U.S. space mission to explore the vessel. This was allegedly the rumored, "Apollo 20" Mission from 1972. The video and pics are on the internet and are part of the would be "conspiracy theories" that many believe. The fact that this one statue seems so close in appearance to the one in the video is eerie and remarkable. Was this statue or another image like it known about back in 1972 or is it just a coincidence that an alleged film shows a person apparently of the same race and characteristics as this statue??

My current understanding is precession at nearly 26,000 years (25,920 +-),
this author is at 23000 years. Milankovtich (1920's) wrote extensively on all the forces that influence this planet over long cycles of time, this planet is a temperate planet and very much an ice planet over millions of years. We live in the sweet spot era. We should take care of the time we have here.
Mother Earth has shaken off many other species and civilizations from its back.

The author is making a mistake of looking through a colored glass. He is basically seeing what he wants to see with his limited knowledge. His superimposition of Egyptian beliefs on ancient South Indian culture and beliefs is laughable. The Dravidian civilization is as old as the Egyptian civilization. It had written rules of grammar (Tolkappiam, Nanool), plethora of Sangam literature...to just quote a few. The Sangam literature has survived even to this day. Though the script has changed, the Tamil language is still spoken by many and its ancient compositions can be understood even today. The Dravidian kingdoms (Pandiyas, Cheras, Cholas) conducted trade by sea routes both in the West (Roman empire) and in the East (Cambodia, Indonesia, Burma). There are both archaeological as well as literary evidences to it. Where do you think the Arab numerals came from? So, there is nothing surprising about finding trade settlements in Musiris.

The term "Pattini" is a Tamil term for "faithful wife." The epic "Silapadikaram" written by Illango Adigal speaks about one such dutiful wife called "Kanagi", who was married to a tradesman named "Kovalan." Because of his misdeeds, he looses the family fortunes and ultimately, looses his life after being accused of stealing queens anklets. Kanagi stood by her husband through all his travails. When she learns that her husband was wrongly put to death, she burns the city of Madurai by throwing her anklet (kart silambu) down and breaking it to reveal manikka kartkal (precious stones). The queens anklets were made up of semi-precious of inferior quality. You can see her statue holding her anklet in the picture shown above. Kovalan is not brought back to life. It is rather, Kanagi, who leaves this world and joins her husband in the spirtual realm. The literature tells us that the purity and faithfulness of Kanagi gave her the godly power to destroy the whole city. Thus, she became venerated in the eyes of all women. They built temples for her, extolling her values. This tradition has got nothing to do with Isis.

If the author is sincere in his attempt to learn ancient South Indian religious practises and customs, he may do well to start with fresh eyes and speak with knowledgeable historians of Southern India.

  • Reply to: Is this a 300 million-year-old screw or just a fossilized sea creature?   8 years 1 week ago
    Comment Author: mothman7777

I have worked as a professional geological surveyor and have also done field trips where I have found many of these fossils, along with others such as Gigantoproductus from marine beds in the same series. I have found crinoid specimens that are vastly more 'screw'-like' in appearance than the very poor specimens provided for comparison in this article.

I do not doubt that screws existed even millions of years ago on this planet, as vedic literature states that dynasties of kings existed literally hundreds of millions of years ago, ruling over advanced civilizations of probably somewhat different human species than those living today, but I rather think this specimen is likely another crinoid.

Specimens of crinoids preserved in very fine sandstone for instance can be found situated in hollows inside solid rock in which nothing is left after fossilization other than a very fine crinoid 'screwthread' in stunningly perfect detail.

This doesn't seem like a mystery to me, we started as a primate that could already communicate many things verbally with a smaller vocabulary, individuals with ability to formulate sounds better would have an advantage in war and hunting, this ability would be extended to new concepts in all the ways suggested, by copying sounds, by imitating their own grunts of effort, by combining sounds already in use and so on.

The driving force is the usefulness of a new word or new type of word in a particular situation. If you are continually using a hand gesture like a monkey to communicate a concept like "together", it will be useful to be able to say it, someone may just make a frustrated noise when he has to make that "together" gesture with his hands full again and the word "together" is born. Next time he makes the frustrated noise, they know what it means without the gesture.

We still create words and do it in all the methods suggested for it's origin but there was no origin, we've been doing it since before we climbed out of the trees. The success of language would have sparked brain development as brains that were good at language would have reproduced. We have invented whole new languages and with the much smaller vocabulary of primitive humans, a small group of people could invent a new language quite easily, language could have been very local and fluid.
Sometimes languages would replace other languages through conquest and sometimes would combine through trade or intermarriage, there is no reason to expect a uniform origin or spread of something that is a universal evolutionary process. Language spread with people, interacted as people interacted and was invented as necessity dictated with a lot of capriciousness.

Language started everywhere and spread from everywhere to everywhere in every possible way and continued to evolve and hasn't stopped yet.

He is the “father” of India archaeology – and the great discovery was the presence of the Romans in South India, where many discoveries made. The excavation of Musiris is complex because of the very active Periyar river system that has changed course with catastropic results and is assumed to have destroyed any remaining archaeology. .. so mostly its the domain of other kinds of research other than dirt and trowels. But new digs are occuring all the time and I hope this will give it a push –

Gavin Menzies discussed Greco-Roman contact with India on their west coast and located some potential areas for excavation. While I don't agree with some is conclusions (e.g., China discovered Europe and started Renaissance), he did identify some interesting potential places for further investigation, and the Indian sites likely would pan out better than some others. Do you know if there are any archaeological expeditions looking for Egyptian or Greco-Roman ruins in India?

Here's your scientific proof naysayers. Physical evidence, outside of a body. There has been thousands of footprint evidence, but that was always brushed aside. More and more scientists are growing away from academia. The schools in America are the root for a lot of misinformation. Tenured professors don't provide any new information, techniques, or do they obtain any new training. Once tenured, they forget to learn.
Bigfoot, has been known for centuries to the Indigenous Peoples of the Pacific Northwet of America and Canada. The Yeti has been known to the Tibetan people as well for centuries.

Answer is not known but speculative at best, DNA answers direction from where we came but also perplexes our answer, upon this I submitted my DNA to ancestry.com but suggest if we each decide to do submission we might find clearer answer toward our goal of learning where we originated. No one has answer unless you were the first upon planet, according to bible would be Adam, if he were alive how old would he be? 4 million years old? So if we extrapilate he existed, then we might suggest alien origin as we have no clue as to origin. If we look at DNA and science we come to agreement we are older than appears substantatively, as a species but science permits question of our origin only to determine focus not biblical skeptism against faith but might affirm if we learn to use scientific principles with theology in full context or we are just from experiments gone wrong. I prefer to remain ignorant but hope discovery toward actual knowledge of fact not speculative arguments please provide facts in argument not speculative argument. I submitted my DNA to ancestry.com and guesse what was discovered, I have 750+ relatives living across globe, who would have thought, but more interesting is King Goerge V was my great great grandfather, my DNA should be interesting to analyze against speculative arguments. I would love to know why I was given his accounts, as they are all dead I will never know why or for what purpose.
