Jesus Christ. What is it with archaeologists saying everything they can't immediately identify a religious building? The Great Pyramid is STILL called a Tomb, when we all know that is not so. It will always be called a tomb, because it was called a tomb by an archaeologist. Gobekli Tepe is clearly and obviously a town. But an archaeologist called the oldest temple, so that albatross will ever hang on its' neck. Obscuring all future research.
KNOCK IT OFF. Scientists don't leap to conclusions. Religious people do. Figure out who you are AND WORK THAT SIDE OF THE STREET.
A national geographic research has showed strong evidence of phoenician dna, about Alexander the great , the siege that lasted 7 months was in the city of Saida ( sidon ) not tyre , welcome
Nothing mentioned about Punt. Punt is where they are supposed to have been from, and the reason the Punic wars were called the Punic wars. Nothing about the circumnavigation of Africa either.
To parse your claim, Neanderthal taught Ethiopians to manufacture throwing weapons. Even though there is little or no evidence Neanderthal was able to throw weapons, or was ever anywhere near Ethiopia.
I have not seen any news about this site for 6 months, appears that investigation is still blocked or stalled? I don’t suppose any sort of pressure on the government would get things re-started. This seems to have the potential for really enlightening discoveries, shame it is blocked. If the government would allow, I would certainly be willing to contribute funds just to help find out.
It looks like a walking stick to me. But then, I've injured my leg a few times. Neanderthal never did that. So, of course, would not have thought about using a cane.
Not saying they didn't dig. Just saying a digging stick is a ubiquitous utilitarian device, so easily obtained it is not worth carrying far. A medical device is manufactured to exacting specifications for a certain purpose and often a certain person. As such, it is important in a way a digging stick is not, thus there is motive to make it well and make it last.
The bag is a strong indicator that these were not GODs at all. An all powerful being doesn’t pack a bag. The bag signifies that there is a need for it to accommodate-and be accessorized by the beholder. Therefore, when an accommodation is required, the being can not be omnipotent but dependent.
This is not a sign of the value of the coin, but rather, a testament to the obscene amounts of money the wealthy hoard. In decadent times the value of objects like these soar and they crash when recessions come.
We do write our own histories, if others for whatever reasons decide to ignore our history then they can’t call themselves historians. Unfortunately historians have allowed themselves to become attached to the characteristics of their own cultures, which is particually important when it comes to the time period of Wessex. They refuse to study facts which could have a bearing on the history of their own culture upon which they themselves were raised. To make a point, we’re now talking about Vikings because a tv series romantised them, we adapt another culture to fit into our own. Or, we’re not interested in other cultures unless it benefits our own, in this case the reason being entertainment.
Interesting article and interesting point of view.
Thank you!
Always admired Akhenaten as an unconventional thinker and a supporter of great new art. My attention was caught – as for so many - by the wonderful bust of his wife Nefertiti, whom I've seen first time at the age of six in Berlin.
In contrast, Akhenaten's depictions lead to speculations of sicknesses and genetic defects, what subsequently make think about his possible imbecility. Never watched him as imbecile, in contrary he looks very powerful to me.
Akhenaten obviously didn't and doesn't fit the usual ideal of manly power and beauty and wasn't able to mask it as his predecessors leastwise tried to. And his Kingship was endangered by the circumstances described in the article here.
Maybe this fox made a virtue out of necessity by installing a new artististic direction and with this a new male beauty ideal.
As Queen Elizabeth I. (who's for my taste an ugly frog) did it for females.
Dressed in expensive and glittering gowns and declaring a bald forehead as a new fashion, she appeared to her court and folk beautiful too. Or perhaps only nobody dared to say different.
Well, all this doesn't excuse Akhenaten's exploit of children, who probably built up his new city Amarna, even though it might have been 'contemporary' to drive child slaves into their deaths.
Gucci creates a fashion line to celebrate abortion aka murdering unborn children. And now I read they are rejuvenating the Tarpeian rock? What a sick, sick company. Never again will I buy anything Gucci.

Pics or it didn't happen.
I was with you right up the the word, "Temple".

Thanks.
The Phoenicians were a part of the older Semitic race, which also included the Babylonians, Jews, and the Carthaginians
Even if Phoenicians invented the alphabet, something largely disputed, they surely made the least use of it to promote knowledge.
That's because they died out. Modern Europeans are descended from invaders.
And DNA analysis can do nothing to clear up some of the mystery of these prominent people?

Nothing is mentioned about Ugarith and other city states although some of them older and bigger than Sidon and Byblos etc
“ £552,000”

Stating that something "is a thing" in a journalistic article is poor journalism.
Why is this African goddess of divine order depicted as European?
Interesting article and interesting point of view.

I loved the link to Trump supporting WND. Good to know this site hasn’t become a progressive cesspool of fake news.
