There was no confusion about what gender anyone was born in Native American society. There were men that had a vision or dream that instructed them to dress as a woman, they were given special powers of prophecy and certain healing ceremonies. In Lakota they were called Winkte & it was a Winkte that foretold that 100 whites would be killed at the Fetterman massacre ( I believe that 89 soldiers died there) stop trying to twist history to justify what is going on with society today.

In the paragraph reporting the price ranges expected at auction, the amount at the low range should have 600,000 pounds sterling = 800,000 USD instead of 8,000,000 USD.

  • Reply to: The Legend of Gilgamesh   4 years 11 months ago
    Comment Author: Jerry Cornelius

Gilgamesh Immortal wild born wore lion skins
till tamed by the priestess Ishtar
Great Sage and Warrior defeated mortality
    the unceasing tyranny of Time

Invincible Conqueror he first captured Uruk
then even to Lebanon on the Middle Sea shore
Sumer's great gods he brought and smashed idols
his glories are carved in permanent rock

    Gilgamesh Emperor refused his mortality
challenged this affronting curtailment of power
He curses the gods who gave mankind death
    and kept immortality themselves

He desecrates the temples dismantles the altars
    discredits the ancient beliefs
Then Gilgamesh wanders again wearing lion skins
    searching for everlasting life

But he cannot claim one hundred years
or even five days in this world
till Sleep gently takes to her restful abode
the great warrior docile and blind

Eternity is found in the cavernous dark
excess time too great to endure
Is this then my fate or will I cease to be
    Gilgamesh resolves to inquire

The answer he learns as sailors well know
lies on the deep ocean floor
But that bitter truth encased in sharp spines
has never been brought back to shore

Undaunted the sage who searched beyond heaven
for the secret to undying youth
ties rocks to his feet descends through the deep
poised at the threshold of death

Gilgamesh plucks and swallows the fruit
too thorny for mortals to hold
Then returning to Uruk reigned fifty more years
    devoted and caring for all

Ninety-nine years was his time on this earth
after ninety-nine years and nine days
maggots appeared a great stench arose
his corpse was consigned to the flames

His funeral remembered for eighty four years
was portrayed in gold and bright stones
The shrine was revered for five hundred more
then plundered and levelled by foe

But Gilgamesh Immortal has no need of monuments
from clay to papyrus he strides
From parchment to print and digital media
    technologies yet to arrive

Ripples arise in the seething entropy
    multitudes exist and subside
Five thousand years and all that has passed
    Gilgamesh alone survives.

There is an appalling fraud being committed against the Australian people. One that has been aided and abbeted by one of our leading academic institutions.

The book Dark Emu authored by Bruce Pascoe and followed up by several lectures is a complete fairytale. Somehow blinded by their extremist left wing bias this obvious fallacy has been allowed to claim an undeserved position as an academically accepted work.

It does not stand up to even the slightest of scrutiny is in complete contradiction of the archeological findings, the historic eyewitness accounts or the obvious present day realities of indigenous lifestyles.

Yet still has been lauded and promoted and is even being taught (indoctrinated) to the impressionable young minds of Australian school children.

All who believe that history deserves to be treated as an academic science, rather than a tool of political bias, should make it clear that this kind of fraudulent misinformation is unacceptable from a respected institution especially one that is funded by the public purse.

    Haha haha

So a tribal nomadic hunter gatherer people who never built anything more substantial than a stone eel trap or bark hut, suddenly mobilized and orchestrated the coordinated labour force required to build on a monumental scale.  Then having finished melted back into the bush and resumed their ancient wandering ??

Like all paelithic people the "religion" of indigenous Australia was a blend of ancestor worship and animism a form of spirituality that does not require large scale monuments.

This is just another fraudulent attempt to bring doubt on the accounts of early European explorers and give undeserved creedance to the fake claims of indigenous "civilization".

I believe that you mean to refer to the Capsian culture (named for the Tunisian town of Gafsa, known as Capsa during the Roman period) rather than "Caspian", which would tend to indicate an Iranian origin.

I need not read more, that "macabre show" was ONE of the atrocities that the Roman Catholic Church has committed through the ages since the beginning of the Christian era. This one with the attendance of "High Prelates" and the current Pope at the time as "a prosecutor?"

I was intrigued by the phrase "the third sex" and researched the author, Walter L. Williams, finding the following:
"On 30 April 2013, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Williams in the United States District Court for the Central District of California for sexual exploitation of children, travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, and engaging in illicit sexual conduct in foreign places. Williams was accused of engaging in sexual acts with two underage boys in the Philippines via webcam.[22]
He was arrested in a public park in Playa del Carmen, Mexico one day after he was put on the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list[25] and was extradited to Los Angeles, California.
The FBI, with reasonable suspicion, searched Williams's personal computer, finding unclothed photographs of teenage boys.[22] In 2014, he pleaded guilty to illicit sexual contact with boys aged 14 to 16 in the Philippines"
So I think that said article is biased, as well as his in www.theguardian.com

Gary Meade is correct. The Great Pyramid actually has 8 sides, which is formed from a 'Seed of Life' sacred Geometry & you'll find that the PPL in the area regarded it as a representation of the '7 Days of Creation'. The thought that the PPL who constructed the Pyramid had higher Technological knowledge than we do now, might just be too big a thought for small Minds? The Article falsely proposes a " Pole Star" alignment, but the reality is a line drawn from the exact middle of the South Face to the exact middle of the North face continued around the Globe, is only 'off' the precise spherical measurement of the Earth, by 1/2 INCH! The ONLY explanation is a Survey taken at Satellite distances! For those who seek a more 'simple' explanation, let me point out the old cliché;“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”...let me point out that Humans did NOT have the ability for Space Surveys of the Planet!

Hello. I just started reading you article. I scanned it first and it looks awesome. Looking forward to the read. I started reading and in the first sentence... I'm confused or perhaps misread. It states, "In 1874, the Norwegian chess historian Antonius Van der Linde belittled Frederic Madden’s suggestion that Iceland could produce..." Was the second to last word there supposed to be "couldn't"/"could not". If not, sorry to jump to the gun. I'm going to read it right now. Thanks! Brent

As an actual native who knows our history, NEVER have we said that you people were here before you invaded our lands in the early 1500's. Only in the ignorant imaginations of fools like yourself does this lie get told.
So there is a story about how some of our people were sent to the outside world to spread wisdom and that one day a group of fair-skinned people would come to our shores with the wisdom given to them and our world would enter a peaceful age. This same story also warned about what would happen if these people were corrupted, about how death and destruction would follow them where ever they go. That is the only story that any of our people have in regards to the white race.
