Yes, your suggestion for quartz makes a lot of sense, especially when one looks at the shape of the crystals in their natural state, the ends especially.

Quart is also high in the Moh scale of hardness, not as good as diamond obviously (10) but a very respectable 7, and easier to find and maybe trade the right size crystal for the intended hole.

Thanks for the detailed response.   I think the quartz tool makes sense.

The striations still look much less skilled than the hole drilling.  Whoever drilled the hole had to do it very carefully and patiently.  The rest of the stone doesn’t have that feel of careful craftmanship.

Researchers have suggested the (uniconical) formation of the pendant’s hole was created in a single direction working from one side. They speculate this was done prior to the engraving so as not to cause a breakage of the fragile shale rock after it was engraved. (Engraving could then begin without fear of splitting the rock once the hole was successfully completed)

They noticed the drilling action left indications possibly made by a narrow-pointed reworked lithic (stone) tool that was hand-held and NOT placed within a handle. They replicated this technique with similar results.

They concluded the more uniform smaller hole on the non-engraved side had also been similarly worked.

The perforation hole revealed microscopic residues of white crystals. Using Raman spectroscopy (Micro-Raman), detection of microscopic chemical remains were retrieved.

The results were Quartz (SiO2), and only found within the perforated hole. No other areas of the stone had quartz residue. Also, the limited surrounding soil that was analysed also failed to show traces of quartz.

The researchers are at a loss to explain the presence of the quartz surrounding the perforation – other than speculating it must have washed down from elsewhere and been deposited in the rim of the hole??

Perhaps the hole was created by using a fine quartz tool that the original artisan used for such applications -when drilling into softer rock. If this were the case, there would have been quartz powders left within the worked hole as has been identified by the use of the Micro-Raman scan.

As for the interpretation of the non-figurative geometric designs, I’ll post at another time, but these designs can be interpreted using scientific methods that are repeatable, proven, observed on all continents (excluding Antarctica) and from many different eras of antiquity.

    Comment Author: Raven Anastasia...

The "oldest" Christian Church would be the one established at Pentecost in the upper room in Jerusalem---I would think. But at the time of Great Schism with Rome in 1054, there were 4 other jurisdictions (5 including Rome; and the "new" Russian Church that was only a couple of deacdes old): Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexandria, and Constantinople. It only makes sense that if you are the one leaving the others because you disagree with them and together they are the Body of the Church--then you are the heretical branch of the family-tree. The Coptic Orthodox Church belongs to the Oriental Orthodox family of Churches, which has been a distinct Christian body since the schism following the Council of Chalcedon in AD 451, when it took a different position over Christology from that of the Eastern Orthodox Church, so what we have today as the Coptic Church also left the original Church (from the Alexandrian jurisdiction), aka the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Most cultures have a cosmological structure and this correlates to the bodies of life represented in a level of the trinity. It is apparent many trinities are evident of which I am familiar with the progressive structures and bodies traditionally and globally described. Bodies are different from personalities of one. The Universal design known by many names is macro cosmically projected by studying life closer to home. As life forms on Earth are a product of parental figures, it was traditionally projected that life as larger structures were to.
I can appreciate that we can be both Father and Son, we can be Mother and daughter, we can't be Mother Father and Son and Daughter. Father here refers to the heavenly or Celestial energy of our surrounding body who is a traditional partner to the Earth body. These are physically recognised by studying life. I love the Geb and Nut example, although I am liberal with gender. The Celestial body of Nut is broken down into anatomical signs represented by Earthly observations. These two structures are compared to the form of the human body and this is considered the Universal template.
The same template or pattern passes through each of these structures like a Russian doll similarity. The Geb and Nut concept is well known but the zodiac signs are all individual anatomical parts and together form the full body. The Earth zones are the same and were recorded by ancient civilisations confirming global communications. Look at my picture and look at the twelve zones around the equator of Earth. The heads of Easter Island, to Stonehenge as Cancer, to the Sphinx as Leo, the Virgin Mary and Christ as Virgo, the scales of Buddha and other Icons. These examples correlate to the same Celestial order, considered a full body broken down into anatomical parts.  ( please refer to the gallery for numerous pictures )
The human body representing life on Earth blends into the World body and correlates to the Celestial body; a cosmological trinity each as a different scale of the Universal pattern and each only a part of the Universal structure.
Quote "the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me; I am part or particle of God."

I want to thank Gord (didn't miss the r ) and Osiris for your intellectual thread related contributions. I am familiar with the modern concept of "the New Perspective" with regards to planetary formation and the concept of the phase of water, or phase of expression.    http://thenewperspective21.wix.com/anewworld   This is the zone where water is stable as a liquid, related to it's position in the solar system. Too close to the sun and water becomes evaporated and too far from the sun water is in a frozen state. The New Perspective describes the theory of the movement of the planets through this water zone. NASA and other astronomy research facilities search for other planets now within this zone or parameters, for the greatest probability of sustaining life.
Water when gained by a planet through this movement would also have an absorption factor creating a long term expansive effect of the planet until the point of removal. As the accumulation of water increases so to does the compressive effect due to weight and the gravitational forces. Once a point is reached, of a maximum water level and changes to a phase of removal then additional and opposing forces react.

Unfortunately Aztalan, WIsconsin is actually several hundred miles away (south) from the Isle Royal copper mines so it is unlikely the two are associated. There is a pyramid mound there at Azatlan though. It is an earthen pyramid and it is said to have been a location for funeral pyres. A crematory.  But these explanations come from white anglos with no real concern for the history of the Native Americans.  I’ve often found the two names to be remarkably similar.

Cudos to AO for putting up this article. It obviously touches some sore spots with the ‘young earth’ adherents, but it’s a fascinating article and worthy of a more thorough investigation as these sonar photos are from around 1995 I believe. Mainistream archaeology won’t touch it with a 10 foot shovel right alongside the Bosnian pyramid. But it points more and more to the likelihood that human ‘civilization’, and in fact advanced civilization, is cyclical and not linear as mainstream archaeology would have us believe. But the ooparts are piling up. They can no longer hide them.

Expanding earth is a logical theory too. It was originally presented by the same man who presented the Pangea theory. Mainstream ‘science’ cherry-picked the Pangea part and discarded the expanding earth model. But alongside the expanding earth model is the plasma core model too. It explains the increase in water/matter. Maybe science will catch up someday and we’ll finally be on to something.

Meanwhile this ‘underwater city’ need more investigation. Heck, they photgraphed the Titanic! What’s holding them up? It’s been well over a decade since its discovery.

Hair is your spiritual connection, to bring out your spirit gifts. The Native Americans do believe that the hair is their spirit, regardless of what certain commenters feel.
The Unified Field of God,and the God Calculus, shows that the hair increases your personal area without an increase in mass, but it is alive and connected, thus unbalancing your soul towards the Light half(the Holy Spirit part of you). Your magnetic part (dark energy)being the cause of hardness and density, and your Light half being Your Life.
I have personally experienced this, as I grew my hair my intuitive sense expands.
Why do we think the forces of Mammon(materialism), frowns on it to the point of ridicule?
