I think this is a very cool find. I understand that there is not alot of evidence of corn growing by these people. I do have a question, Did they trade to get the corn to make corn mash? I think that there was corn growing widespread because of this quote from Virginia.org, “When the English settlers arrived in 1607, corn was a key food crop of the Native Americans in Virginia. The English colonists plannned to trade for food (as did the Spanish in Florida). From the beginning, the colonists were planning to eat corn grown by the Native Americans in Virginia.” http://www.virginiaplaces.org/agriculture/corn.html

I think it is really cool that around the world people that lived neolitic and peleolithic modes of society all knew and utilized fermentation. I wonder if it was a way to cleanse water without boiling it. I wonder who was the first society mode to distill, was it the agricultural based society?

Besides finding this whole subject fascinating, I figure I have to add a comment to it. Decades ago I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Italy with my parents and we visited several Roman ruins, including the city of Pompay. There we could see in the stone covered streets deep ruts, from exactly that, traffic of both chariot and wagon. The older the road, as long as it was continually used, the deeper the ruts, and to the point you would wounder how they could still be being used at that time without filling them up again somehow with gravel or something. For ruts that continue along and go into the sea, I would think would make them at the very least older than 7,000 years ago, or when ever the mediteranean was opened to the sea. Flooded and then dry again ruins that accumulated clay deposits might be indicative of having come through either the 'Noah's flood' which by the tale submerged most of the land for up to a full year, or by the one that the Egyptians referred to as having been part of the destruction of Atlantis and corresponds with the Clovis extinction event, being about 12,500 years ago. Then there's the man made artifacts dredged up off the coast of India that date to about 30,000 years ago....

The history of Geography more and more is pointing towards the destruction of civilizations happening all at once instead of on a gradual , evolutional basis, coal deposits coughing up occasional man made metal artifacts, trees penetrating though several layers of rock giving lie to the theories that these were laid down in different time periods, and so forth. The Andes suddently thrusting upward, and thus preserving an ancient city instead of the opposite happening like with the submergence of other coastal cities of the era around 9, 000 BC. Wars thoughout the ages have destroyed much, but there still is enough legends passed down by older civilizations that we know about the 'gods' and others that supposedly restarted civilizations from their adobes both in the sky and underneath the ground.
American indian legends and even some more modern prospectors, today have tales of a people still inhabiting underground areas.

To finally put forth some serious effort to exploring the underground areas of ruins is to be that much closer to knowing the truth about history and the peoples that came before our era. Places to look is anywhere there are legends of the ancient 'gods' adobes and operating areas, to include Baalbek, which I don't believe anyone has excavated very deeply or found tunnels leading to the depths yet.

Yes. The asymmetrical "figure eight" that traces the sun's changing position in the sky over the course of a year is strictly geocentric; caused by the earth's axial tilt etc.

Referring to this apparent motion as the sun's "orbit" stems from the earlier geocentric conception of the solar system. But people do still sometimes call it an "orbit" today.

The X is also used in early medeval times as sign/symbol for Christ or God.

the practice of using the symbol “X” in place of Christ’s name has been going on amongst religious scholars for at least 1000 years. http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2011/12/the-x-in-xmas-doesnt-tak... http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/swords-inscription-800-year-old...

    @StKos:

Däniken most definitely said he had not been in the cave nor seen the metal books. Mainly because, as he made clear in Chariots, the location of the entrance to the metal library was unknown. Those who did know where it was, kept it secret. There was never any doubt of this in the book. Nor was it unclear that he was relating a legend.

In other words, anyone reading his book would completely understand that the metal library was an unconfirmed legend, and that Däniken was not claiming to have seen or entered it.

But the way you relate your information--that Däniken was "pressed" about the story, or that he "admitted" he hadn't entered the cave--very much sounds like you are attempting to portray Däniken as having been caught in a lie; as though he had claimed to have been in the caves, and to have seen the metal books. Which, as I said, he hadn't.

Nice use of the false premise fallacy tho.

It was not "more of a fictional account than fact", it was anecdotal accounts, and Däniken relayed them as such.

Your final statement, that Däniken was a con man out to sell books, is rather ridiculous. There are a lot of much easier ways to fleece people; ways that have a much higher rate of success and returns. Especially at the time Däniken wrote his book, before the popularization of AAT, in a time when the ostracization of anyone or anything to do with ETs or UFOs was at an all-time high.
Even today, when these subjects are orders of magnitude less taboo than they were when Chariots was published, it is not a big moneymaking proposition. If you want to get rich, do not write a book about UFOs.

But you might want to apply for some jobs writing propaganda. Your ability to pretzel words is positively Machiavellian.

P.S. I borrowed your umlaut to use for Däniken's name. Thanks.

So my question now is slightly different. Is it not accepted that Solomon's temple(versions 1 and 2) once stood atop the Moirah platform?
