The Egyptians, Greeks and other Near Eastern civilizations tended to conflate their beliefs and gods anyway. You are correct in that it was probably for shows of power and dominance, however this was also the time of Ptolemy, so sadly Egypt had already been captured.

    Hello Mr. Willis,

I believe in The Bible. I believe in The Verse found in Joshua "As For Me and My House We Will Serve" The Lord. I believe that The Bible is God's word and What The Bible teaches Me is Truth.

On the other hand I realize not everybody believes my way or even Worships God in the manner that I do.

What The Bible comes down to is the fact that The Holy Book is a Book of The Impossible. When and individual picks up a Book any Spiritual Book as a matter of fact whether, it is Buddhism, or Christianity, Hinduism, Islam or Judaism and read the thing's written in Sacred Text then these writings becomes Books of The Impossible. The inifinite change that happens to that person or person's may or may not not occur nevertheless, once a person accepts what they've read from Sacred Text like The Bible as Truth then that individual is saying Yes to the Impossible this is the definition for Me personally for Faith.

The feeling a believer gets when reading his/her Bible is that they are in The Presence of God.

Mr. Willis you did however touched on something in your Article about The Practice of The Church Father's removing Books from The Bible they didn't approve of or felt it was to overwhelming to be In the Holy Book and frankly, I do know for a fact that displeases God very much.

I only recently discovered this phenomenon whereas The Bible is concerned regarding 3 Books in particular Enoch, Jubilees, and Jasher which the latter book I've just mentioned is found in The Book of Joshua (Jasher). I found out about their being expelled from The Bible last year. I do remember hearing about Enoch however when I was 12 from a documentary Mysteries of the Bible later through The History Channel Banned Books of The Bible. Once I heard Enoch's storyline I definitely walked away from it because it wasn't in The Bible and The Book sounded more like Mythology stories then The Holy Bible.

One thing that never gets old as a Christian is having room to grow and recognize how wrong I was. So now I've become and fledgling Bible Student with Enoch and where Faith comes in to Play it is The Holy Spirit guiding me to embark on this journey.

The other point Mr. Willis that I would like to share is in The Gospels. Jesus lived with People and I'm saying PEOPLE because that is what Adam means in Hebrew for 3 in a half year's. In the Gospel of Matthew and The Gospel of Luke Jesus taught that many false Christ, False Messiah's. False Prophet's and False Teacher's shall arise and if they say that Christ is in the desert, The Cellar, or The basement Do Not Believe It for if so They can Deceive The Very Elect! Jesus teaches His Followers to be Shrewd as Serpents don't allow yourself to be so easily Taken In.

In the Epistles of The New Testament written Paul, Peter, James/John&Jude all warn about False Prophet's and False Teacher's so you see not only can something be and Orally given False teaching but, it can be a False Teaching with the Written Record as well Because As Jesus put it They Can Deceive The Very Elect.

If you're like me then you've Mr. Willis probably has heard various Pastor's or Priest give Epic Sermons on the Apostle Didyimus Thomas whom nearly everyone refers to as Doubting Thomas well I myself Will No Longer speak of Thomas using that Nick name instead, I will say Cautious Thomas for that is how I responded to The Bible Book Enoch.

Who can blame him Jesus taught His Disciples well For If So They Can Deceive the Very Elect. It was only after, Christ said You Believe in Me because You Have Seen Me, Blessed are they Who Believe and Yet Have Not Seen Me.

I had to learn that lesson from Cautious Thomas before I myself could say Yes to Enoch.

I became aware back in January of This Year 2020, NBC news caster Lester Holt did a Special report about an Historical Bible in America.

The Book is known as The Slave Bible. What came out in this News Story is that White Men within positions of power made it there mission to change or remove specific Bible passages from The Book one of those books that was omitted is The Exodus.

So as a believer in The Impossible God is still in control there are literally No Doors out there that can keep God Out for He is the ultimate Back up Plans of all kinds.

During The African Experience many things were denied to Us such as an education, but more importantly We were not allowed to Read The Bible. Through the grace of God somehow we Still Knew about The Exodus or else know one would have referred to Harriet Tubman as Moses.

What we couldn't see with our own eyes we preached with our own Ears and Mouth. The most important issue involving The Slaves as much as The People in power wanted Us to supposedly be Saved in their Eyes we weren't savable because Black People didn't have Soul's therefore We couldn't get into Heaven.

I guess this is where the ideologies you brought up in the article comes into play committing Crimes Against Humanity using The Bible as a Shield They will pay for that decision come Judgement Day that much I do know.

This next Biblical commentary will most likely irritate The Scientific World but, I will not leave it out and that is in 1885, The American Bible Society took out words about certain animals and restructured Bible Verses that made known regarding these animals in the scriptures.

The word Dragon was stated in The 35, times, again 35, times that the word Dragon was mentioned. There is no real explanation given why The Bible Society began doing this so all I can offer is a Theory.

God tells Job that He is a brother to Dragons and something to the Owls. Bible Society changed this verse in Job to God is a Brother to Serpents and something to Ostriches. To me it makes no sense the Ostriches the Society could have kept Owls in that same Bible verse but, chose not too.

My Theory is that Yes The Bible is a Book of Faith but, for some reason The People in 1885, had trouble believing in Dragon's because certainly with the exception of a few remote places in The World where some were said to seen these Bible Society couldn't see them.

Which was an bad call on Their part for The Dragon's were being Found; they were simply given a new name in 1841, Dinosauria.

That's right dinosaurs are in The Bible they have six names that identifies the Dragon's.

    1. Behemoth is mentioned twice Enoch/Job Sauropods
    2. Cockitrice is mentioned 5 time's in the old testament all horned/Spiked dinosaurs
    3. Dragon's/Water Dragon's 35, time's old tesament Therapods
    4. Fiery Serpents 2 time's old tesament ptersaurs
    5. Flying Serpents 5 time's ptersaurs
    6. Leviathan Enoch/Job mentioned 6 time's in Old testament pleasosaurs/ Mosaurs

Bible teaches once God created Adam his first job God gave him was too name all of the animals this is a biological inheritance for we as a people name our children, our car's, our houses so we haven't stopped naming thing's.

The 6 names of The Animals in The Bible were all named by Adam. Does this mean there was a Jurassic Park? I would say Yes and leave it at that.

Well it's time for me to go I enjoyed your Article can't wait to read more of your articles I guess what I was trying to say some thing's you stated in your Article I agreed with.

Other points I see the Bible as a Book of the Impossible and whenever reading The Bible it is about placing your Trust in God not necessarily Man's point of view. God will direct you on where to with Him spiritually

    Thank you Mr. Willis!

I am not very convinced that the stone balls were made by ancient man to crush bones and harvest marrow. A long piece of stone with smoothened handle would be more handy. The smoothening process would also be easier than trying to shape a stone to a sphere and then smoothen it. I also noticed that the stone balls are referred to by some archeologists as anachronistic. So, probably the stone balls were not made to crush bones but for some reason still not known. If there is evidence of the stone balls being used for crushing bones then may be it is because later on some guys found the stone balls and found them handy!

    Hello Mr. Tsururgi,

For me I was taught first Sunday School, then Vacation Bible School, followed by much later Sabbath School; that the reason for sacrificing the lambs on the Altar in seeking forgiveness for ones sins too God was to symbolize The sacrifice Christ made on The Cross to save The Whole World from Sin.

With Christ dying on the Cross the sacrificing of lambs for ones. Sins ended 32 A.D. Fulfilling "The Promise" or rather since The Bible uses the Word a lot "The Covenant" God made to Dad and Mom meaning Adam an Eve way back in Eden with The Promise of a Redeemer to save humanity from Sin.

You asked after The Aztecs and their daily religious ceremonies involving sacrificing people to their gods?

I'm a fledgling in this arena where the Aztecs are concerned which means I am gaining a little more insight with help from The Bible and I'm sure you're probably going to wonder how The Aztecs and The Bible are linked?

    Here it goes...

The Aztecs worshipped a certain god that is described as a beautiful plumbed frilled a Serpent.

Apparently, the Serpent God could talk; accordingly as of today this particular Serpent deity sculpture is seen in various places throughout present day Mexico.

That background story by the Aztecs sounds quite innocent of course, until, a little more background was shared about this Serpent god.

Somehow this being, this Serpent in a moment of weakness incested it's sister oh by the way the snake god was Male. He felt guilt about this deed and someway committed suicide remember this is The Aztecs story so he committed suicide was resurrected and became The Morning Star and operated from Venus after his Redemption of incest.

If one practice Christianity, Islam, and Judaism your going to recognize that name Morning Star. Who is He? He is Lucifer Son of the Morning Star.

Lucifer the one who ignited the War in Heaven described in
Revelation chapter 12.He is referred to as "the Dragon, that old Ancient Serpent of Old called Satan, or The Devil.

Why did Lucifer start the War in Heaven, He wanted to be God. Lucifer wanted to take the throne from god. There is a Old Bible Book Enoch, in Enoch God warns Us that Lucifer Son of the Morning Star hadn't lost his cunning despite being cast out from Heaven.

The thing is The Aztecs saw Him They worshipped him. Jesus after his baptism was being tested in the Desert the last parting shot to the Savior is that All the kingdom's of The Earth will be yours if you bow down and worship me , Christ response "Away from me Satan for it is written Worship the Lord Serve only Him", so Lucifer Son of the Morning Star this is who the Aztecs were worshipping the whole time.

One more clue in Genesis it says Now the Serpent in The Garden of Eden was More Cunning than all The Beast that God had made in The Garden and He asked The Woman "did God really say ye shall not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?"

Yes I am saying that The Aztecs were worshipping Lucifer and through their Oral History their religious ceremonies They are Saying They Saw Him which also means there beautiful Serpent god could Talk.

That is basically all I have to say on the matter of sacrifice in The Bible and The manner of Worship with the Aztecs.

Okay, maybe I have 2 more thing's to add and they are...

In Job God has an meeting with his Angels Bible says Sons of God came to this meeting now these Angels in question were Representatives of other World's and Satan came with them claiming to Own Us as in Earth.

After, Adam and Eve Sinned that was True. I

In Old Testament Time's; Lucifer did Own Earth (or perhaps God allowed him to believe his own delusional power), Christ died on The Cross not only do we get the free gift of Salvation, but, Christ bought Earth back with His Blood; that was The Price of Sin, that was the price Christ was willing to pay to get Earth back.

Lastly, Revelation chapter 12 says that Lucifer and one third of the Heavenly angels were kicked out of Heaven one third ? That is 1000 wicked angels that was cast down to Earth so perhaps it was those 1000, Angels that The World's great Civilizations were actually worshipping and you're probably wondering why Human Sacrifices?

Well worst case example I can give is accept holding Themselves accountable for being kicked out of Heaven as a Consequence of the War they fought, against God They are in Turn blaming the People of the Earth so having human's kill each other is a great way for them to get back at God.

Well it was great talking to you Mr. Tsururgi and check it out about that serpent deity The Aztecs once revered and now in Present Day Mexico There All Catholic. Goodbye!

Do I understand correctly that it is not the actual pot that is being dated but the fragments of food or other matter attached to the pot? If so a search might reveal something testable within the sphinx or the Great Pyramid or something that is known to have been removed from one of these sites. It would be interesting to know whether those who believe they originate from very far back in antiquity are correct or not.

    Hello Mr. Whelan,

This is definitely the best Article I've read. In the 90's, 1996 if I am the cable network A&E produced A Documentary Series...
Mysteries of the Bible it was hosted by Richard Kiley while The Actress Jean Simmons read the Biblical Passages, I can recall slightly The Academics speaking on Ziklag in relation to King David.

Objects that are being found at the possible Ziklag site are most intriguing. Canaanites gods like Baal found proof of Israel breaking The Covenant of God by taking part in that endeavor also proof of The Nations that lived in Canaan before Israel's arrival truly did worship these deities.

Naturally, the baal image has been found so I was wondering just in general are they certain baal carried a spear? Not a lightening bolt or thunder bolt? 1st King's says baal was worshipped as and weather god hence the reason behind First King's Chapter 19.

    Excellent article!

  • Reply to: Where are Ashkenazi Jews from? Their Origins May Surprise You   4 years 2 weeks ago
    Comment Author: Raymond Nolan Scott

Elan Elhaik's 2013 Genetic study on Ashkenazi Jews made use of part of data set (Behar and others, 2010), focused specifically on the Khazar hypothesis, arguing that it has strong genetic support.
This claim was built on a series of analyses similar to those performed in Behar and other's original study that initially reported the data. The reanalysis relied on the assumption that the Armenians and Georgians of the South Caucasus region could serve as appropriate proxies for Khazar descendants (Elhaik, 2013). This assumption is problematic for a number of reasons.
First, because of the great variety of populations in the Caucasus region and the fact that no specific population in the region is known to represent Khazar descendants, evidence for ancestry among Caucasus populations need not reflect Khazar ancestry.  Second, even if it were allowed that Caucasus affinities could represent Khazar ancestry, the use of the Armenians and Georgians as Khazar proxies is particularly poor, as they represent the southern part of the Caucasus region, while the Khazar Khaganate was centered in the North Caucasus and further to the north. Furthermore, among populations of the Caucasus, Armenians and Georgians are geographically the closest to the Middle East, and are therefore expected a priori to show the greatest genetic similarity to Middle Eastern populations. Indeed, a rather high similarity of South Caucasus populations to Middle Eastern groups was observed at the level of the whole genome in a recent study (Yunusbayev and others, 2012).
Thus, any genetic similarity between Ashkenazi Jews and Armenians and Georgians might merely reflect a common shared Middle Eastern ancestry component, actually providing further support to a Middle Eastern origin of Ashkenazi Jews, rather than a hint for a Khazar origin.

A large study made by Wayne State University in 2013 contains genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphisms in 1,774 samples from 106 Jewish and non Jewish populations that span the possible regions of potential Ashkenazi ancestry: Europe, the Middle East, and the region historically associated with the Khazar Khaganate. The data set includes 261 samples from 15 populations from the Caucasus region and the region directly to its north, samples that have not previously been included alongside Ashkenazi Jewish samples in genomic studies. Employing a variety of standard techniques for the analysis of populationgenetic structure, we find that Ashkenazi Jews share the greatest genetic ancestry with other Jewish populations, and among non-Jewish populations, with groups from Europe and the Middle East. No particular similarity of Ashkenazi Jews with populations from the Caucasus is evident, particularly with the populations that most closely represent the Khazar region. ” (2013, Wayne State University)

This could explain why Israelites claim an Egyptian descent and continued to have contact with it throughout the Bible (their own text which explicitly says they are not to return to it) why after all would it be that Babylon, which conquered them, became synonymous with an oppressive empire even into the new Testament but Egypt tends to be viewed more neutrally (both as good and bad) According the new Testament Jesus was even born in Egypt, meaning there was likely a community of Jewish people there

  • Reply to: What Do You Think About Atlantis?   4 years 2 weeks ago
    Comment Author: Wizdym4aolcom

I'd written a paper in college back in 1970 about the archaeologists who researched Santorini and Crete, including their speculation that  the Minoan civilization may well have been the origin of the story Plato related about an impressive ancient civilization destroyed by a huge cataclysm. I'll try to share what I recall, but encourage a thorough research of the Minoan civilizaion..
I do recall that the Greek archaeologist whose book I had read said that since antiquity, a pair of mountains on the Greek mainland's shore was also called the Pillar of Hercules by Greek residents, and he suggested that was the origin of the reference to them, in Plato's tale, thereby locating Atlantis in the Aegean. Whatever. He also had the insight that the numbers mentioned in the story had serious flaws and contradictions that lead to false conclusions.
Plato says he is faithfully re-telling a story that was passed down to him, through the years  as retold by the Egyptian priest Solon. Plato first says Atlantis an island with an advanced civilization that was destroyed 9,000 years before. And he describes the island's size as being 3,000 miles. To the teachers who passed on this oral tradition through the years, something was obviously amiss, in that there are no islands that massive, which might be why the description as being "Larger than Libya" came from.  Similarly, the idea of Atlantis being a tale that's been passed down orally for as long as 9, 000 years strains credulity.
However, the Greek Archaeologist realized, due to the mistaken translation from Egyptian to Greek, the numbers were off by a factor of 10,  which is how the incredible, 3,000 mile continent-size of the island of Atlantis described by Plato, was really an island the size of Crete, 300 miles.  Similarly, the antiquity for Atlantis is more like 900 years than the 9000 years mention by Plato.

The so-called golden-age of Greek history was built on the shoulders of the Minoan Civilization which preceded them, not only philosophically, but technologically as well, including the fact their palaces were equipped with running toilets. The Minoan civilization was  virtually destroyed by the largest cataclysm in human history, the Santorini eruption circa 1600 BC...which, by measurements of it's caldera, was at least 5 times bigger than the Krakatoa eruption. The Mycenean Greeks, from the mainland soon invaded and took over what remained.

Fitting Plato's description of Atlantis, the Minoan predominant colors were black and red, they venerated bulls, were predominantly peaceful and were very egalitarian, their women had more rights than European 19th century women.

Scott Wolter and others have interesting reasons to conjecture that the Minoans, as well the the Phoenicians, used Michigan as a source for large quantities of copper is in the Bronze age that were excavated from there in antiquity.
Certainly there are traces of long-hidden ancient civilizations around the world, but, to a 5th century BC philosopher in Athens, he was passing along an oral account of a huge cataclysm that occurred some 15-20 generations before him. . The dramatic and terrifying end to the first flourishing civilization in Europe was both inspiring and haunting.
