The jokes on you! Your strawman and anecdotal arguments have zero scientific proof. Arabs brought Sub Saharan slaves into Egypt hundreds of years ago which explains the “Black Egyptian” your keen on referencing as well as the “Black Moors”. Blacks have nothing to do with Egyptians or any civilizations you've alluded to in your strawman rant. Jealous and covetous much?

This was both insulting, but also funny. It does disappoint me that you take it at such face value. Each image says a thousand words. It also makes much more sense if you knew the context. I will reply soon.

I find John Ciardi’s translation of the Divine Comedy the best and easiest to read, with many valuable and informative footnotes to understand the people, events, and culture of the times. Dante was writing about contemporary figures as well as historic ones, and for many or most readers the names of most of them will be unknown. Other translations, although by eminent authors, are more formal, somewhat stilted and lack the pace and rythym of Ciardi’s version.

December Stewart,  So allow me to get this straight, in that you stated that YOU PREPARED A GOOGLE PHOTO GALLERY, and no one else besides you, THEN YOU STATED THAT IT BLEW YOUR MIND ha ha ha..  So wy would some bullshit gallery that you prepared blow your mind, especially when you stated that you created it ha ha ha???   I could understand if someone else created it and you had seen it for the first time.  Your hilarious photo gallery which you posted shows you trying to compare pesent day photos of “WHITE FOLK “ to ancient Black Egyptian statues, and you seem to be convinced that you created some facts, when all you did was made a fool of yourself with simple minded ignorance and stupidity..

Senowsret,   Well actually the fact still remains that Nordic white Europeans are not  Caucasian, and are very different from Black Egyptians, Arabs, Indians.  There is a vast difference between pale white Nordic Europeans and the other races of people whom you mentioned.  It appears to me that pale white Nordic and other white Europeans are so fixated on trying to claim “Racial Allegiance” and similarities to any race of people whose racial attributes  are related to ancient human civikizations, since we all know that “Nordic” and other white Europeans has absolutely no documented  ancient civilizations to be proud of dating back prior to 1000 BCE, so they always like latching on to ancient Black Egyptians/Nubians, Black and mixed race Arabs, Levantines, even dark skin southern Indians, as  well as trying to classify Ethiopians and other East Africans as being FIRST COUSINS to white folk ha ha ha?  There are white idiots in America who claim to be native American while paying $5 dollars for an application that claims they are Indian so that they don’t have to pay American taxes.  There are videos of present day Black Egyptians arriving in te USA who were told that they were “WHITE PEOPLE”, and some of them had to sue the government in order to be classified as Black Egyptians.   The stupid American government told him that he had to be white because he was Egyptian, and that no matter how Black he was, he had to be classifed as “WHITE” ha ha ha..  You white racist supremacists will go to unlimiteed Etremes to try claiming other races of people  who has ancient civilization racial conections, as being the same as white folks, and THAT IS A BALD FACE LIE, ha ha ha.   The term “CAUCASIAN” derives from the people who lived near and around the “CAUCASUS MOUNTAINS” which are primarily located in ASIA, and not in EUROPA.  It is a fact that the first  European civilizations were founded in SOUTHERN EUROPA by ancient Black African Colonists, which include the Black Minoans of CRETE, the Blacks of Pylos, Chaldea, Colchis (present day Geogia), as well as the Etruscans of ancient Etruria.  Most of the paintings of those ancient countries show elegant Black race people with dark “brown reddish” chocolate milk kind of skin color, and very curly or wooly Afro hair.  I have seen white racists post comments about  these ancient Black Europeans were “WHITE FOLKS WITH SUNTAN”  because they worked all day in the sun ha ha ha?  My answer to them was that I have seen white pale folks who were born in the Las Vegas desert city,as well as Pam Springs desert city and worked outside all their life, and I never saw white folks in those hot locations who largely gained the VERY DARK SKIN COLOR OF “CHOCOLATE  MILK”.   Instead, I have only witnessed white folks with “PINKISH” burnt skin same as when anyone is burned and the pink is shown, and their white skin began to “PEEL LIKE A DRIED UP ONION”, and they NEVER turn dark reddish brown like the color of chocolate milk .  Later Senowsret

Seems like someone's still clinging to delusional isfet.  Cauacasians are not limited to Nordic peoples. Egyptians, Greeks, Arabs, Northern Indians are all Caucasians with fair to dark hair and skin, curly to straight hair. Caucasians are easily distinguished from Sub Saharan Africans by craniotomy, nasal and orbital features. Forensic anthropologists determine skeletal remains’ races all the time ffs.

I believe that both the lost continents of Mu and Atlantis may exist externally, but they are also metaphors for an internal knowledge both representing the two hemispheres of the brain.  The Pillars of Hercules could also be a metaphor for the corpus callosum.  Mu would represent the left hemisphere and Atlantis the right, also the feminine and masculine energies.  The stories and legends have been built up through the years, but the foundational knowledge is still there.  Just my mana’o to share.  he havai’i au

It is interesting that Becchia would take the approach that Silvio Savelli’s account is reason for us to doubt Burchard’s account, especially since he was bitter and hated the Borgias. I see it as proof of  Burchard’s account! At least in part.

Since we are talking about the church here, it is appropriate to point out that the Bible says that a thing may be established or confirmed at the mouth of 2 or more witnesses (i.e. the testimony of 2 witnesses is sufficient evidence for a verdict).

So, we know that on October 30, 1501, both Johann Burchard, and Silvio Savelli attended the banquet and were witnesses to the events of that night. We also know that Cardinal Cesare Borgia and Pope Alexander VI along with some of Rome’s most exclusive courtesans (the  “Cortigiana.”), 50 according to Burchard, were present.

Burchard gives a detailed account of events and Savelli a less detailed one, but he does confirm that the courtesans were indeed present, and that they greeted guests with “a most shocking sight.” Those are strong words which carry weight. Even in the modern world, "a shocking sight implies something that would disturb the population in general.

Although he does not go into detail, does Savelli really need to? The words "courtesans" and "a most shocking sight" are enough to tell us that there was sinful, immoral and decadent goings on at the banquet, and at least partially confirm Burchard's account. After all, Pope Alexander VI behaviour is infamous, as is the behaviour of other members of the family.

Savelli never said the courtesans were on their knees praying before the Pope and the Cardinal for forgiveness. If he had, I would have doubted that account! As things stand, Burchard's account is highly likely. It's possible Savelli's account was an attempt to "soften" what happened at the event and minimise his own guilt (by association at least).

I believe Burchard's account should be taken more seriously. Savelli's account, at least in part, backs him up.

    Hi Derek,

I can imagine that the island we now call Hainan has been host to several high civilizations throughout it’s history. The climate is mild and the soils are so rich and fertile. Seafaring people from all over the Pacific may have settled there and brought their technology and scientific knowledge with them.

I would also imagine that refugees from the sunken continent of Whaga or Pan would have arrived on those shores. ( I mention that in my reply to number 3 in this thread although I was trying to reply to Sonya in number 2)

The more I learn about ancient history the more I realise that cities and populated land masses have disappeared below oceans, seas and lakes all over the world. The story of Atlantis could be referring to any one or several of these cataclysmic events.

I know everyone thinks thinks the pillars refer to the Mediterranean, but these were only the Western Pillars.

The Gulf of Tonkin has a volcanic island…..

The island is the correct size…

The island is at the centre of the gulf...

    and the geographical descriptions match….

I discussed this as a possibility in The Map That Talked.
