The Truth Behind the Christ Myth: Ancient Origins of the Often Used Legend – Part I

(Read the article on one page)

What is the origin of the legend of the Christed Son who was born of a virgin on December 25th? I am sure you are familiar with his legend which states that he was born in a manger surrounded by shepherds and then grew up to be One with his Father in Heaven.  And most certainly you recall the sequence of events when this Christed Son gathered together his important disciples before enduring his death by torture and his subsequent resurrection. And, finally, there is the scene at the end of his time on Earth when he prophesied his return and then ascended into Heaven.

Now for my question to you: Who amongst you is now mumbling under his or her breath “This can only be the legend of the Christians’ Jesus Christ”?  Well…to the rest of you, I would like to inform you that many years before the birth of Jesus a legend identical to his was the accepted life story of the Persian Son of God, Mithras. And before Mithras, a very similar legend was ascribed to various other Sons of God worldwide, including the Greek Dionysus, the Egyptian Osiris, the Sumerian Dammuzi, and the Hindu Murugan. In fact, if we keep going back in time many thousands of years earlier we will discover that this universal legend actually began with the Green Man, the Son of a virgin Goddess who was born, died, and finally resurrected each and every year.

So how did this oft-used legend eventually become chosen to be the legend of Jesus? Let us begin when it was the life story of the ancient Green Man and work forward to the time of the Christian Son of God.

The Ancient Green Man

During the Neolithic Age, which was the era when, as some say, “God was a Woman,” the Goddess and Her Son, the Green Man, were venerated by people worldwide for annually bringing forth the Earth’s material abundance. A universal legend about them arose that began with the annual impregnation of the “virgin” Earth Goddess by the Sun, the “Father in Heaven,” and the subsequent birth of Her Son, the Green Man. This important event occurred annually at the time of the Winter Solstice, when the spirit of the Green Man that had been slumbering underground in the underworld was shaken back to life. But although his dormant spirit had been stirred, it was not yet fully awake. This did not occur until a few days later, on December 25th, when the Sun or Solar Spirit completely reversed its downward path and took measurable steps along a northerly route.

This was an important “As Above, So Below” event. It was believed the renewed and revitalized Solar Spirit above in the Heavens had re-awakened and revitalized the spirit of his Son below and inside the Earth.  And now the future Green Man could begin his annual gestation period with the womb of his mother, the virginal Earth, in anticipation of receiving a new, resurrected body in the spring.

The legend of the Goddess and Green Man then skips to the Vernal Equinox, when the Green Man is ready to finally emerge from the womb of his mother. This is the time when the “male” light equals the “female” darkness, and their male-female polarity fully unites to produce a fresh infusion of life force to cover and fertilize the land. The fetal body of the Green Man is now ready to push out of the womb of his mother Earth in the form of the new tender sprouts of spring. Soon, his annual resurrection will be complete. This will occur on or around the same day as our Easter, a modern holiday associated with the much more recent resurrection of another Son of a virgin.

The legend of the Green Man then covers the hot summer months, when the Son rapidly matures as the rapidly maturing vegetative growth of nature. He matures so fast, in fact, that the Green Man not only becomes One with his Father in Heaven, but he even mates with and inseminates his own mother. Their co-habitation produces a second infusion of the fructifying life force on Earth and manifests as a second proliferation of vegetation and accompanying harvest. Ultimately, this event would serve to hasten the Green Man’s demise, and soon he would die again with the decaying vegetation and the falling of leaves of autumn. The cause of his death? The sacerdotal interpreters of his legend would later assert that it occurred because of the sins of humanity. It was believed through original sin humanity had given up not only its own right, but the right of all life on Earth, to achieve eternal life.

Now you go and tell Netanyahu and the 6, 000,000 Jews in Israel that they cannot use their Jewish Bible to claim Palestine as theirs.

SImply stating it’s the “Word of YHWH” is a childish comment and much like claiming the Easter Bunny is real because I BELIEVE IT!

In all fairness to the  ‘6 million’ (there’s that magical number again) jews in the land formerly known as Palestine. The majority of them are transplants from north/northeastern Europe. They are Ashkenazi/Khazar jews with no historical or genetic linkage to the original middle eastern Hebrews. Their ancestors converted in the 7th and 8th century. It is only a ‘belief’ that connects them. Incidently Netanyahu’s real name is Miliekovsky. He’s of Lithuanian descent (slavic) not semitic.  Prior to 1947 there was no “israel” it was known as Judea or Palestine. In fact, historically there never was a ‘place’ called Israel. Only and ever a tribe. Kind of like the Native Americans stealing a state and calling it Cheerokee or Hopi and claiming the Great Spirit in their ancient legends told them it is theirs..

Actually there was a historical Kingdom of Israel, the Northern Kingdom, which either split from a united kingdom (2 Chronicles 15) or developed separately as some scholars now think. It existed from roughly 930 BCE until 720 BCE, when it was conquered by the Neo-Assyrian Empire and most of its population relocated and assimilated. The so-called “ten lost tribes” came from that Israel.

Ironically, modern day “Israel” is situated where the other nation, the Kingdom of Judah, was located.  Judah was mostly exterminated in 70 CE by the Romans but a few Jews apparently survived including those who were living abroad. But yes, the “Jews” occupying Palestine today are descendants of Caucasian Khazarian converts and have no historical ties to the Levant. Simply, they are warmongering counterfeits.

I would have to agree with Osirus concerning the issue of Palestine. It has been a political machination which has hurt far too many people. Palestinians are Hebrews and Arabs are a Semitic people. The Khazars were converts and are no relation to the original Jews of the Bible. As for the Zionists agenda, it speaks for itself, and the reality is not connected to any spiritual link to the Bible.I am sorry if this offends those that want to believe the false history that has been accepted as truth.Hopefully, through sites like this, we can discuss issues of great concern and importance based on facts, not propaganda. I met a man just tonight at the health club and we started a conversation.I am the inquisitive type and I am like a sponge looking to soak up the water of Truth. He said he was a Hebrew, and he is Palestinian. I, of course, wanted to hear as much of his thoughts as he was willing to share. He just confirmed that my research was correct, and he was quite peaceful in his outlook considering the reality of the situation. We must be able to seek the truth, and be willing to discuss this issue since much is at stake.why waste human, financial and other resources on wars not based on the facts. We need to be wise and to stop letting those who have ulterior motives to create needless conflict. I have attempted to be as polite as possible while sharing not only what I have learned, but what those who have been there are willing to say. The one piece of information I have no citation for is the name Osirus mentioned for Netanyahu. If you read this please share the source to assist me in my research. I really like to have my citations mentally available for my discussions and debates.

Why can't we read stories about the Green Man? Cause writing wasn't really happening back in that early time. And about Genesis predicting Jesus, did you ever see Star Wars? Notice how the sequel knew exactly what happened in the first movie? The New Testament is the sequel to the Old Testament. So of course the writers of that Testament knew exactly how to paint Jesus to look like the fulfillment of the prophecy of the OT. DUH! And in fact, the Church knew what was expected so well, they made any of the gospels (like Nag Hammedi) that didn't fit the scheme apocryphal or ditched them all together. There were many gospels written about Jesus, and they don't all agree. And both the OT and NT have contradictory parts. I like the idea of Jesus I like the words that were attributed to him in the NT. Thomas Jefferson like Jesus' words too, tho Jefferson didn't believe in that kind of god. He did appreciate the morality attributed to Jesus, so he made his own bible by stripping out everything but just the words attributed to Jesus. Unfortunately humans keep waiting for Jesus to save them, when the point of life is to learn how to save ourselves.

The Lycurgus Cup.
A strange chalice made its way into the British Museum’s collection in the 1950s. It is a 1,600-year-old jade green Roman artifact called the Lycurgus Cup. The image on the chalice is an iconic scene with King Lycurgus of Thrace...
