My recollection is hazy, but I do remember clearly that the circuit was a spiral moving up +/or down the stone. Thank you for sharing this but may I point out that in reality there is nothing simple about any type of “Megalithic” Structure due to the challenge presented in moving just one stone of a size large enough to be classified as a Megalith.

I wonder if this is on Private or on Public lands? I know how much time and trouble it is here in the States but was curious about how much trouble and cost for permission it is there.

I wouldn't dismiss the small ones as off limits to humans. In Maharashtra state of India you have ellora caves. These have small tunnels drilled (or something) into rock. Cameras on Remote controlled vehicle have found carvings on the walls. These spaces are too small for normal adults to enter.
Maybe kids were sent in. Though I doubt kids can carve realistic stuff on its walls. In any case why?
