They reported a hearth like structure which is a nice way of saying rocks. It's also a nice way of bending the truth. No, there would not necessarily be charcoal spread over a large area. There would be ash which is easily washed away by rains. Charcoal would only be formed in low oxygen environments like caves and rock falls and would be preserved there as it is sheltered from the weather. Just as it is at Cerro de Capivara. Which do you think is more likely?.

Sirens are part of the Pelasgian mythology, borrowed by greeks. This stry wrritten by Wu Mingren is not based on the scientiphic reality. All history o the Bronze Age in the Aegean and Mediterranea regions is part o the oldest peoples, the pelasgians or Sea peoples. Greeks had came in the territory about V century BC, oldest greek documents in the regio are not. .

Your comment about the research of Holliday, i.e.,Who knows a lot is not learned. Who's learned does not know much! (Lao-Tse)", is unfair and biased. How can you claim a learned archaeologists who is well respected by his peers " does not know much! ", when he has conducted hundreds of archaeological excavations, and you have done none. Instead of making uninformed comments you should read the article by Holliday.

The Article appeared in American Anthropologist, you should be able to buy it on line:

    Greetings Liz,

I'd like to say I enjoyed reading your article… I can imagine how many hours/days of effort were taken up, to reach completion. In your reasearch, have you come to any conclusion as to the validity of ghost? As were are in this physical reality where duality is prevalent, a fair judgement/conclusion would be that they (ghosts) are real and can have an affect on this physical realm.

These ghosts don’t have to be from our ancient past but can also be from our present 'now.’ as the element of ‘Time’ is non existant within the other dimensions where these entities exist; their ‘now’ is our ’now.' As we are creatures of ‘wanting to know’ and in 'wanting to know,’ we also rely on accredited/scientifically approved methods of documention, factual evidence, for verification. If experiences are brought forth, who becomes the judge and jury to factulize the findings?

I believe that there are entities (ghosts sounds so Hollywood and gives a mystery and haunting quality,) physical beings (souls) who have passed over and a great percentage of them, aren't malevolent or evil; just souls that haven't any understanding or knowing what to do, where to go and what to expect in their new reality/dimension of existance.

My wife and I have spent the last 25 years helping these souls complete their journey and cross-over (like the Ghost Whisper, without the sensationalism and drama.) We have recorded and documentated a large portion of the session we have done and if you are interested in finding out some other truths about the reality of ghost; let me know.

    Greetings,

    Derek

  • Reply to: To Open or Not to Open The 1,650-Year-Old Speyer Wine Bottle?   6 years 11 months ago
    Comment Author: Charles Watson

Wine experts know that the idea that all wine improves with age is a myth. Like most things, it improves, peaks and declines. Some wise are best nearly fresh. Others peak at different points. The light white wines go first. The ones that last the longest generally are the high-quality red wines and wines that are high is sugar and alcohol content, such as the Bordeaux, Trokenbeerenausleses, Tokaj Esencia, and Vintage ports. Even the best wine, stored under the best conditions, is seldom drinkable after a couple of hundred years.
It would be miraculous if the wine in that bottle were even bearable at this age. The main purpose of opening it would be to analyze it to see how they made wine at that point in history. Of course at that age, it may have actually been made by Dionysus or Bachus and may magically carry you to the golden age of Greece, which could prove addicting.

Although the glorification of boys was a part of the gay elite culture, most men then as now did not molest children.Pericles was even accused of being hard hearted for refusing to take a boy under his wing so to speak.

Euripides the poet, also, was much addicted to women: at all events Hieronymus in his Historical Commentaries speaks as follows,—"When some one told Sophocles that Euripides was a woman-hater, 'He may be,' said he, 'in his tragedies, but in his bed he is very fond of women.
    — Athenaeus, The Deipnosophists, Book 13

If the 21at century were to be judged by the amount of gay art and porn there is out there would assume everyone was also bisexual.

Dimitris, you're desperately trying to sound as authority, but it is a pity effort on your side. The only "scenario" that you accept is that everyone is from a "greek" tribe. Please, take a break. The history is not that certain about all possible "scenarios", but certainly a progress is made in the past 100 years to raise the ancient fog. And the signs that a lot has happened around Black Sea circa 10,000 - 12,000 BC are clearly showing.
You mention "great balkanologists" - who are they? And do we need a "balkanologist", but rather archaelogists? And not only "balkan" ones.
I don't even start a discussion anymore that those "old bulgarians" that came to Balkans 6-7 century AD, are turko-mongolians. This pseudo proposal was made by ill-informed and politically motivated "historians", not based on rather plenty of facts suggesting completely different "scenario", by your terms.

Now the place of the oldest civilization on Earth is known - around current Black Sea, with the center lying deep beneath the sea. The ancient cataclysm (the flood) that happened 7000-8000 years ago, destroyed that civilization, and survivors all spread in different directions, seeking "high ground" to be safe. Millenias later their return and "reunion" is what happened. Thracians, bulgarians, even you "greek tribes" share the same roots, descendants of that civilization. More and more details will be uncovered in the coming decades. But the picture of the single "scenario", the real history is already taking shape. Keep calm.

In all probability , the nephilim were the hybrid race that was the result of angels marrying human women and producing the men of renown as Genesis 6 says.

This is what brought the worldwide flood about.

Sorry. but teh Hebrew Word for day is the word YOWM. It can mean a period of time of indefinite period as you said. But in Genesis 1 it is clearly defined that the day was an evening and a morning . The Bible is very clear it is 6 24 hour days.

Also if the days weere eras instead of days, most life would not have survived. There is a symbiosis between plants and some living creatures. Flowers will not survive without bees to pollinate them and you cannot have plants living for an undefined era without bees .

Your comment reminds me a lot of the Ages of Man in Hesiod. He talks about a similar concept, how all the 'men' before the current age fell eventually, despite being much better off than the men today... and how eventually, we too must await our own fall.
