I’ve seen several several articles accusing prestigous organizations (such as Geographic) of destroying or concealing artifacts that do not agree with the ‘established’ notions of history, i.e. giants or remains reported to have been discovered in many locations in U.S. There have even been stories of respected researchers being discredited and black-balled for daring to propose theories based on research that does not agree with the official version of events.

I hope you don’t get any kickback even though your article is very diplomatically worded.

Hi, I live in Arizona, USA, and have two primary interests: native American past on both continents, and especially ancient civilizations (pre-dating conventional history) Ancient astronauts? maybe, but I prefer to believe that much more advanced humans existed and flourished on earth – possibly millions of years ago.

Oral legends of many native American tribes (and Austrailians) tell of series of past ‘worlds’ that existed on earth before our current era. How else can we explain so many of the stupendous megalithic sites? Conventional science needs to face the indisputable fact that bronze tools and stone hammers could not have built  Coricancha, Puma Punkuu or the great pyramids.

Also everywhere you look on the internet and on television, there are experts telling people to calm down. The information debunking the 2012 predictions ranges from serious attempts to explain the calendar in laymen’s terms to exasperated rants telling people to get real. Here are some more serious arguments from the skeptic side.

Yes, December 21, 2012 falls on the winter solstice. There is no evidence to suggest that the winter solstice lining up with any other astrological alignment would cause any kind of disturbance on Earth. Yes, it is possible that the Sun and the plane of the Milky Way Galaxy will be lined up on that day. However, predicting an exact alignment between the Sun and the plane of the galaxy is not exactly easy, or precise. Furthermore, it is possible that the Sun is in rough alignment with the plane of the galaxy for hundreds of years. That is not in the Mayan Long Count Calendar.

Yes, the song of the blue whales is changing and it is a great mystery. However, there is no way to interpret the blue whale’s song at this time. At least, there is no evidence of such a thing. This theory also sounds suspiciously like the dolphins who knew the end of the world was coming in “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams. As for the shaman’s predictions, it has to be a matter of speculation, because there is no way to disprove predictions until they do not come true.

The Mayan Long Count Calendar, like all of the Mayan calendars and our calendars, operates on a cycle. When the cycle ends, a new one begins. It is kind of like when you get to the end of your yearly calendar; you throw it away and open a new one. Do you get nervous that the world is going to end at the end of every year? The problem is, the Mayans stopped using that calendar system a long time ago, so no one will be making one for the new cycle. In this way, it is the end, the end of the Mayan Calendar.

With all due respect to Mr. Ardic and his son, I think we are no closer to deciphering this manuscript today than when it was written some 500 to 600 years ago.

Looking at some of the illustrations of a strange looking animal (a hybrid for sure), bizarre flora, and impossible text, I've come to my own conclusion. I think that the person(s) who compiled this work of art was just "putting us on" and died laughing as he thought about all the experts/specialists who will be agonizing with "blood, sweat, and tears" over what the author's secret was that he took to the grave with him.

In other words, I think this work is a canard, a prevarication, a "snow job", the biggest con-job of all con-jobs. So there! This guy, whoever he was, is "busted"!

    P. S. If this is too much to bear for some, please disregard all-of-the-above. Cheers, Pilgrims.

Uh, hemp is not marijuana. They're both members of the cannabis family, but they aren't the same thing. You can't smoke hemp. But because they look similar, hemp was banned as if it was also marijuana. Hemp has tons of uses for textiles, rope, its oil has many industrial uses, and is easily grown. Marijuana, on the other hand, requires a specialized environment to grow, and yes, is good for medical usage. The drug companies hate it, because it's better than many of their products, with fewer side effects. They can't make money off of it.

Since the Biblical tales of Genesis are just a reiteration of the stories from the Enuma Elish, which long preceded it, I would consider any research derived from Genesis to be highly suspect.

Meanwhile...in Egypt, "Joseph" built irrigation canals...the "Bar Yusef" remains to this day....built by "Yuya".

I've often wondered why there is no mention of the Great Pyramids of Giza while the Israelis were living in the land of Goshen for over 400 years. Being one of the great wonders of the world you would think that they would at least get a mention. But not a word can be found anywhere in Scripture in reference to Giza - unless you can enlighten me.

This kind of thing seems so weird to me. When they found the stelae in Nimes, did nobody stop to think 'Ucetia... hmm, that sounds a lot like the name of a town that's only fifteen miles away, that would probably be a good place to look'?

Sometimes, place names don't change that much over the centuries...

Try this web page. It may help to identify the sex of the cannabis plant. Pay attention because it is a little tricky. Nomenclature in the human genome is a lot easier to understand.

I've been to all of the sites pictured. I had a lot of fun when I visited those sites. And the best part about it, I did it "on the cheap". I traveled in my four-wheel-drive Silverado equipped with a camper cap and everything contained inside for an extended trip throughout the U. S. National Park System in Utah. BLM supplied free campsites and I supplied all the rest, including, iced spring water, food, chilled beer, my favorite CDs, video camera and DSLR for recording my trip and to provide making a cameo of myself having fun. The only thing I lacked was an HD video drone. Since then, the quality has gone up and the price has gone down. But I digress.

Every time I feel a bit nostalgic I go through the photos I took (that are still on my hard drive) or the video I shot; some while camping; some while driving 80 MPH. You can do that in the Southwestern desert states because the roads are straight, free of "potholes" and the traffic is light.

I don't think it is the Bible that Journee believes in. The assertion that Satan is the father of lies is a common evangelical rant, often from people who don't read, but do "repeat after me" stuff like the sinner's prayer and proselytizing what they know nothing of. From the beginning, it was clear who was the truthteller, biblically speaking - Genesis 3:1-5, Genesis 3:22

So you believe only in the bible and nothing before it? This author is just bringing facts...obviously you can't handle facts. So why even delve into ancient history? Or do you only study "ancient history" that proves your god exists? Way to be an adult "quit frikking LYING", seriously? Why not try learning something outside of your tiny little narrow world? It's a big place to rely on something your parents forced on you, i.e. religion.
