Hi all, I’m a newbie to forums but would love to connect with others interested in ancient archaeology.  I first started reading articles from Ancient Origins website about 4 yrs ago when I began researching the roots of the Federal Reserve.  I’ve been tracing the Nephilim/giants from the days of Noah to the dollar bill.  It’s been absolutely fascinating to unearth the mysteries of the Great Pyramid, Baalbek, Stonehenge, Gilgal Rephaim, etc.  Looking to expand my understanding through this forum.

    Hello Ashley,

That was an intricate article quite intriguing thank you for sharing.

Your article also reminded me of things that occurred in America's History. You mentioned the religious and mythical interpretation of the Human Soul?

I'm African American Woman in my Youth we have too start learning our history so we can be prepared for the good and the bad in American Society; so I can still recall what I felt when as a child I found out during slavery Europeans taught that the African Slaves didn't have Soul's and this specific belief impacted the slaves when they wanted to get married.

It's a practice still done in some places within the African American community today and that was too Jump the Broom, and when they landed together after Jumping the Broom then they had landed in Matrimony because Black People did not have Soul's.

Learning that could have taken Me into a whole other direction but, First taught by my mom I'm a child a of God and only God knows who has a Soul and who doesn't and then through significant people in History such as Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr whose many biographies I've read and from Dr. King I discovered Booker T. Washington who famously once said Let No Man pull You Down so Low as to Make You Hate Them.

The stinging feeling from reading about how Black People didn't have Soul's no longer bothered me but, I can't speak for the entire African American Communities; it would not surprise me if each individual sees this from their perspective differently it also depends on one's life's experiences as well in American Society as an African American.

It's apart of history but one I can't run With God's help I've decided to embrace the infamous and the triumphs in History dealt towards My People.

Okay Goodbye for now Ashley until next time!

    Hi Adam,

The only textual variant of the Torah is the Samaritan version. Masoretic text only specifies the nikkud or vowel pointing system, which identifies words versus other possible words with different vowels. As far as textual consistency, the Teimani community was separated since the first temple period and their Hebrew text of Torah was identical to the common Masoretic Torah text.

Even the Septuagint Hebrew text is identical to the common text, they only focused on a Greek translation.

    Anyway, interesting article nonetheless.

People think this child was painted looking old because ancient people believed Jesus was born full grown? Flimshaw. There’s got to be a better description than that.

I found this article very convincing up until the point where you tried to integrate the part about the Chinese. We know Zheng He was in the Indian Ocean but the Atlantic is not really believable. Many of these old maps ant not dated accurately. After you examine a couple hundred of them, you begin to see many similar ones then one from the same period is wildly advanced, sometimes by over a hundred years.

I think some of them probably had no dates and they were added later. Maybe to bolster a land claim, maybe that's what they believed at the time. It is also hard to believe the starving Vikings couldn't get to Newfoundland without the help of the Chinese.

    Hey Zucchini,

Thanks for reading my article.  I appreciated your feedback.  BTW the book of Enoch is one of my favorite biblical texts.

    Hey Truthseeker,

Thank you for reading my article.  I always appreciate the feedback.  Two things I would say.  First, you are correct that the MT (Masoretic Text) does not read arum but I beleive there are textual variants that do as pointed out by the BHS (Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia) textual apparatus.  The Septuagint and the Vulgate (the latter of which reads nudus or nude) attests to this possible variant.  I should have made that clearer in the article….which is what I get from going by (flawed) memory.  Also, arms and hands (Hebrew: yad) are used often metaphorically for sexual potency.  Secondly, while midbar can refer to a specific region it is, as BDB (Brown Drivers Briggs) would attest to most often used generically to refer to wilderness or desert as seen in the Hebrew title of the book of Numbers (barmidbar = in the wilderness).

Thanks again for your insights.  Take care.

There are some strong claims in the article, and I am not sure how much is mythology and how much real history.

Not sure about Japan, but in China, you can buy 60% rice wine for £1 per 300ml which is flavoured with star anise, if like you say it is just a crude whisky then it won't taste very nice so you can deduce that it won't be worth the premium price. My opinion is that Johny walker black and better whisky's will continue to do well as the uk tax premium won't apply over there but there will be better, cheaper equivalents of things like poteen.

Interesting theory, but akenhaten worshipped the Sun and Jews worship God.
Therefore, the links between the Pharaohs etc. Using horns to celebrate coronations etc. Was just the technology of the time, the date of the new year has possibly been interpreted wrong and as for akenhaten bein Moses, well he is 2 hundred years too early as a Ramses was Pharaoh at the time of the exodus.

    Hello Ed,

This is an great article thanks for sharing about The Sultan Mamluk your article leaves me wondering if it's possible; that Mamluk might be an ancestor of Esau Father of the Edomites?

In the Bible Esau married 3 Wives; two of his wives were Canaanites a source of misery for Isaac and Rebekkah in the Scriptures; but, the third wife was a daughter of Ishmael Abraham's first born son through Hager the Egyptian Slave woman.

The last Son born unto Esau by the Ishmaelite was name Amalek father of the Amalekites it's the way the Sultans name is spell that stands out too me the most.

I think they were Amalekites if that's true from my neck of the woods then the Sunday School and Sabbath School teacher's are wrong to declare them extinct.

If they're not extinct yet that could mean that the other Edomites may still be here.

There is a mountain known as Mt. Seir this Geographic location is somewhere near Palestine and Lebanon, it's known for its unusual bright red Earth the fore-father Esau was born with Hair all over and He's Red all over which is why God designated Mt. Seir go to his Ancestors.

Mamluk stands out to me in this article; I'm willing too admit, that I could be wrong with this possibility about Mamluk being an Amalekite especially since in The Bible their identified as Duke's however Sultan appears to be a specific title according to their Geographic territory within The Middle East.

Goodbye thank you again for sharing your article look forward to reading more.
