The men probably did not stand on the ice road to pull, but to either side in front. Pulling evenly on both sides. All you need is center line to follow, both on the stone and marked on the ice and some one on top to keep them lined up by calling out orders to each team. I'm betting the path was scouted out completely looking for the flattest way, and flatning areas that needed flatening all as the stones were being cut... Probably took yeas to move them all with teams assigned to each stone.

Great article, but it doesn't give an address or an amount to send, for some of the seeds. Also a link to growing instructions would be great too. Thanks.

Pre-Columbian Population Dynamics in CoastalSouthern Peru: A Diachronic Investigation of mtDNAPatterns in the Palpa Region by Ancient DNA Analysis

The abstract is as follows Alternative models have been proposed toexplain the formation and decline of the south PeruvianNasca culture, ranging from migration or invasion to au-tochthonous development and ecological crisis. To revealto what extent population dynamic processes accountedfor cultural development in the Nasca mainland, or wereinfluenced by them, we analyzed ancient mitochondrialDNA of 218 individuals, originating from chronologicallysuccessive archaeological sites in the Palpa region, theParacas Peninsula, and the Andean highlands in southernPeru. The sampling strategy allowed a diachronic analysisin a time frame from approximately 800 BC to 800 AD. Mi-tochondrial coding region polymorphisms were success-fully analyzed and replicated for 130 individuals and con-trol region sequences (np 16021–16408) for 104 individu-als to determine Native American mitochondrial DNAhaplogroups and haplotypes. The results were comparedwith ancient and contemporary Peruvian populations toreveal genetic relations of the archaeological samples.Frequency data and statistics show clear proximity of theNasca populations to the populations of the precedingParacas culture from Palpa and the Peninsula, and sug-gest, along with archaeological data, that the Nasca cul-ture developed autochthonously in the Rio Grande drain-age. Furthermore, the influence of changes in socioeco-nomic complexity in the Palpa area on the geneticdiversity of the local population could be observed. In all,a strong genetic affinity between pre-Columbian coastalpopulations from southern Peru could be determined, to-gether with a significant differentiation from ancienthighland and all present-day Peruvian reference popula-tions, best shown in the differential distribution of mito-chondrial haplogroups. I am in total agreement with you Happy Bird, your ‘theory’ is just as valid as any other. Time and again the truth of native American traditional stories/oral history, has been proven correct, so why not ‘creation Stories’?

Do you think indian oceonography experts and archeologists were just idiots and they didn't follow modern scientific equipments and technical excellency?

Why are you ignoring that those facts were the part and parcel of a scientific report which covers more than the info you and we are just referencing only extracts.Do you think that no international expert could track if there is a bluff in the indian explorers theory!

    Comment Author: Dusanmal

While indeed, roughly speaking, this was just one date palm species, it is not as we just lost and than recovered say, Granny Smith apple variety. Catch is that this was one of the foundation species, lost long ago, during early agriculture. It would be as if we lost all apple species from certain region and all derived species (in this case, regional varieties never emerged and were never incorporated further into the general genetics of date palms). It is biologically very, very likely that this particular branch contains a lot of new genetic material and properties. Add to that fact that at the time this was a key crop, those new qualities are very likely to be useful (people grow what performs well, we up to now lost all the work that defined that species).

Romulus and Remus were, in fact, picked up and raised by a LUPA, or, a prostitute, courtesan, as per Plaute and Cicero. The history of the She Wolf was a for-children story dating back to the middle-ages. But the Latin people of old, knew very well what LUPA meant!

I was recently given one of these squash and I saved the seeds. I would like to upload pictures of the squash and the seeds. I am sending seeds on to others per their requests. The person who grew this particular squash up here in Ontario, Canada planted 30 of the seeds and 29 plants grew. He tells me he has plenty of seeds to share as well. Contact me for more info [email protected]. Miigwech.
