    Hi All,

This article correlates a lot of what's made known in The Bible about this region. The question that could possibly be asked is why are we so routinely drawn too Mesopotamia to begin with?

There's this one class in particular I recall which was Western Civilization.

Introduction taught you about the various Civilization's we'd wind up Studying an I remember the point of impact when first chapter of the Classes assigned Text Book Western Civilization we started off with Sumeria.

I had took take the History Class; it was a Prerequisite the textbook revealed Sumeria discussed Ziggart places that were used for worship an yet oddly the text book mentioned the Ziggart's were older than the Pyramids in Egypt.

An what I've learned during Bible Study; now, I know why Ziggart was older than Egypt's Pyramid's. Not to worry won't share that bit.

I found out that Hammurabi dwelled in Sumeria that The Code of Hammurabi came from Sumeria (an I mistakenly assumed they didn't practice The Code anymore) it seemed my brain took a while to catch up on what I had been reading, what was on the News it seemed to me every night, War in Afghanistan, War in Iraq even the location of The Euphrates River.

I suppose what caught my attention about Sumeria is how it was connected to of course Mesopotamia an it hit me Terah father of Abraham, Nahor, an one other Son who died in Sumeria left behind His only Son Lot, that Made Sumeria There Home.

Mesopotamia/Sumeria Ur Land of the Chaldees pops up in Genesis ch.11 right after everyone feels safe an secure to move away somewhat from Tyre which today is Turkey.

It just seemed to me from both The Bible an The Western Civilization assigned Text Book for my History Class That Mesopotamia put the W in The Word War. Almost from the get go The Assyrian's, Syrian's, Sumerian's, The People of Tyre appeared to be bogged down by constant Warfare.

I think the Seeds that were sown 6,000 year's ago is why; The Middle East is as volatile as it is the least likeliest thing can set off massive storms of War in those Hot spot region's.

An as I shared earlier on it's like The World's Civilization's of Today is repeatedly drawn over there like a Moth to a Flame.

I for one don't believe They'll ever change.

This is all I have to share on this topic by the way I hadn't considered Canaan as apart of Mesopotamia in my head it was making it it's own separate Region especially, considering The Philistine's or rather Philista getting mentioned.

    Until next discussion Everyone, Goodbye!

the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 1 He was merciful and compassionate to both his army and enemies and of course to innocent people who have nothing to do with the ongoing conflict.  2 He respected war order. 3 He trained and led many other great leaders like Khalid Ibn Alwalid, Amr Ibn Al'ass and others. 4 He was a great strategic planner. 5 He was a democratic leader (which is not easy in warfare) 6 He implemented advanced battlefield tactics and tricks comparing to his time 7 he was surrounded by intelligent local society and culture experts. 8 He preferred making pacts rather than war. 9 In ten years he could change the power balances of the ancient world giving birth to a new era.

I believe the best military leaders are those who won wars that couldn’t be avoided. For me, leaders of wars of invasion and conquest don’t qualify, and losing a war doesn’t disqualify anyone from my list. I nominate

    Saladin

    Richard I, Lionheart

    George Washington

    Sam Houston

    Robert E. Lee

    Hi All,

This was an interesting article about the Well; all the Cavers found were snakes underground Waterfalls, snakes an dead animal's.

It's interesting how many places on Earth, is thought to be gateway's to Hell, Entrances, Exit's, an Portal's to other World's.

This is the first; I've heard about this Sink Hole in Yemen even the beliefs of Jinnies or Genies, an it's possible descent in to Help.

When I saw the picture of the Hole in Yemen (come to think of it isn't Yemen at War with Saudi Arabia?), my memory went directly to Revelation ch.9 why? I'll leave that too myself.

As for the Geographic Location of where Hell could possibly Be; I don't think Hell is of Earth, according to some new material, I've been reading especially articles that are Posted right here at Ancient Origins discuss that The Ancient Egyptian's mentions the existence of 12,000 Hells. An quite possible there located in the Big Black Universe which we look up at every now an then too count the Star's.

It would explain how come our Ancient Ancestors were so into Astronomy since there accuracy isn't in doubt as much only what They ultimately Believed In an worshipped.

Easy to prove that 99% of them are decended from Vikings, LOL. The vikes invaded northern France, thus the word Normandy means “north men.” Then later, as everyone knows, that William the Conqueror invaded England, thus creating the Anglo-Saxon. I trace my own linage to the brother of William, I am American.

  • Reply to: Stone Circles Explained: How Maypoles and Lintels Lead to Stone Houses   2 years 7 months ago
    Comment Author: AlanP

This is mainly nonsense. Buildings from Neolithic, Bronze-Age and Iron-Age are fairly well-known and generally easily distinguishable from monumental structures. There are many monumental structures other than circles – rows and geometrical arrangements. (I don’t think anyone would suggest that the stones at Carnac supported a roof). Many monuments consist of stones too small to fulfil this function. The interior of stonehenge is too crowded with stones to be a living space. Evidence of wooden posts is recoverable archaeologically, but is not present in a form that would support a roof at most stone circles.

Where the author does have a point is that monumental structures may well have developed from the design of dwellings – and been something like houses for the gods/ancestors

    Hi All,

It would have too be for me at least, The Roman Empire the stage was set perfect Rome Ruled The Western World; Jesus arrived afterwards came the birth of Judeo-Christian in all fairness He is Identified as "The Nazarene".

This is why; I'm so fascinated by The Roman Empire an all its Days that it flourished.

Let's not forget the Institutions of Government within Rome.

First Patrician's Wealthy Powerful Senator's but one didn't become Senators overnight. Military Service first, afterwards, duty to defend Rome an when that was complete you then became a Senator.

Second The Plebians rivals to The Patrician's Wealthy Families; they were equally as powerful like the Patricians.

The Plebians fought for inclusion in to the Roman Senate; nevertheless, as wealthy these Plebian's were in Roman History they were considered beneath the Patrician's eventually Plebian's could become Senator's too.

So one make thing that's the last of the Wealthy privileged families of Rome right? Nope!

The Nosotros was extremely wealthy an far more powerful than Patrician's & Plebian's combine. They too went an became Senator's in Rome.

The Fourth Movers and shakers in Rome you might be familiar with them after all, they spared nothing when killing Caligula, The Centurion's they were the only one's The People of Rome gave the power to remove Emperor's from The Thrones of Rome.

The Centurion's stabbed Caligula 36 time's then murdered his wife and daughter Drusilla named after his beloved sister.

Rome's War's intriguing Carthage The Punic War's an you learn of General Hannibal who used Elephants in his War's he won two but loss the last battle an drank poison rather than be capture by The Roman General Spificus Africus He was from Spain.

I could go on an on oh wait let's not forget The Etruscans I was fascinated with them because of their Matriarch Society an those points in History was in fact rare.

The top military leader would be one that wins against overwhelming odds and is greatly outnumbered in men and equipment.  We could list Henry V.  In modern times Ho Chi Minh lead the poorest nation in the world and brought the richest and most powerful nation in the world to its knees. While not a conquest. It was still remarkable and genius to hold his ground.
