Questioning History: Agriculture older than what is believed
Hendrik Bruins, a landscape archaeologist at the Ben Gurion University of Israel suggests that agriculture goes back more than 5000 BC, contradicting the current opinion and Biblical Archaeology.
The results of his research were based on carbon dating organic material found in three different soil layers (three different periods of time) in Southern Israel. He found evidence of past cultivation which includes animal manure used as a fertilizer that supports his suggestion.
Bruins has submitted his research to a scientific journal, pending review. Until then we won’t know how important his findings are. But if true, then it will change history.
