    Hi, April Holloway,

Criticism can be constructive, as we know. I do not see, however, how correcting grammatical errors via Donna's input could somehow make your article more authoritative. You evaded her premise, which would appear to be relevant. I did not notice any glaring grammatical errors while reading your piece, and the title gave me all the knowledge I needed in order to discern whether this was an academic excursion I was about to embark upon or not. It was very much "National Enquirer" bait: "Did Hillary Clinton have an alien love nest or a penthouse in Canada? And what juicy tidbits may we offer to induce you to read further, because we have no way of knowing the first and would rather avoid the mundane details of the second?" I'm certain that many of your readers enjoy your posts but I felt compelled to point out the corollary to "N.E." Perhaps Donna was seeking concrete facts to back up your suggestion that drugs fueled berserkers. I, for one, read the article and the comments as more of a light diversion. Thank you for taking the time to compose it. Bill.

I was actually Constantine who elevated the belief of Christianity to State Religion. “In Hoc Signo VInces” – by this sign you will conquer.  Whatever may have transpired prior to about 350 ad, from then on until almost the 5th century, the Christian belief has its rise to power as the ‘Emperor became Pope and the Pope became Emperor’.

The book, “The Rise of Christianity and the Proscription of Paganism, by Maude Huttman cites,  meticulously, the list of laws and decrees pass by Constantine and his successors which outlawed all pagan beliefs and practices, and untimately under penalty of death.

It wasn’t the glorious message of the ‘gentle prince of peace’ which gave Christianity its appeal, but the desire to….live.

Yeah right and you can find dozens others, including Obama most recently, who praise greeks. What you fail to understand is that by attacking greeks you attack the same history of Ancient Greece including Macedonia and all the Western Civilisation. And if you are from a civilised western country you basically attack your own civilisation.

Really? Alexander the Great was taught by Aristotle among others in Athens. And what is your suggestion? That modern day Slavs that came to Yugoslavia after 10 centuries speak the language of Alexander the Great? Please leave the propaganda aside and let the historians do their job. Ancient Macedonia, Ancient Athens, Ancient Sparta, Troi, South Italy, Asia Minor, Ancient Egypt all shared the ancient greek/hellenistic culture whether you like it or not and the people who have inherited nowadays that language and that civilisation reside in modern day Greece. And as Alexander the Great insinuated anyone who partakes in the greek education, language and civilisation is greek as he did. Usurping the history of Greece or its ancient lands does not make you greek (or macedonian for that matter). And yes Alexander was great in the fact that he spread around the ancient world the ancient greek culture, the ancient greek culture that was built in Athens, Sparta, Thessaly , Macedonia, the Aegean, and the colonies all over the mediterranean. And it was this same culture that made Alexander great because of the Iliad, and the rest of ancient greek works. However much you try to divide Macedonia from Greece you will not. Alexander himself was the one who brought unity not division. And if the ancient macedonians were not assimilated by the greeks they would indeed be barbarians.

If they did use it, it may have been in the first Italo-Ethiopian war, in which the Ethiopians decisively defeated the amassed armies of an invading Italy. It was the only instance of an African nation successfully warding off European colonial efforts.
However, I am more inclined to believe they didn't use it. The guardians of the Ark in Ethiopia are followers of ancient Hebrew traditions, curiously preserved into modern times.
Whether they hold the Ark or not, I don't know, but I think it is clear they have something. It isn't mere superstition that causes the young men chosen as Guardians to age rapidly, lose their hair, go blind from cataracts, and die within a few short years of becoming a Guardian.

No matter the ancient or modern politics, Ancient Macedonia and Alexander the Great earned their place among the ancient Greek City States. Alexander himself as a young prince had ancient greek education, considered himself greek and managed to unite and subdue the rest of the greek city-states just as Athens, Sparta and Thebes had done before him. Even here witnessing some trying to push their propaganda that modern day nation of Macedonia-FYROM has anything to do with ancient Macedonia is ridiculous. Even if the Slavs want to take upon the identity of Macedonia, then you would have to take upon the greek language and the greek identity. Beyond that you just try to counterfeit history

Pyramids are found on every continent and are remnants of the pre-flood civilizations. The human and hybrid people back then practiced cannibalistic human sacrifices which are always associated with these sites. From the giant earthen pyramidal mounds in southern Illinois, to step pyramids in central america, and all contintents in between, the ancient world had become totally morally and genetically corrupt. The half human/animal depictions found all over the planet left on stone & scroll were not ancient people tripping on drugs & making up mythology. God Himself states that He was grieved that He created man because all had become evil as documented in Genesis. And ultimately judged the ancient world through the flood for its sinful practices. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord..

I love the idea about cleansing and healing rituals as a way of welcoming people officially back into the human family of the culture after a traumatizing experience. This one practice may be what the world needs now more than almost anything else for a variety of types of traumatized individuals.

I have to add a note of doubt about your opening statistic.

7.8 % of Americans *in the general population* will have PTSD at some point in their lives, according to this source: www.ptsd.ne.gov/what-is-ptsd.html

According to RAND, this link says, Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans have PTSD at a rate of 20%. www.veteransandptsd.com/PTSD-statistics.html

Other sources for statistics on PTSD occurrence in veterans may vary within this range. Your estimate is definitely at the low end of the estimates and you give no source.

In my experience working with trauma survivors of another kind that does overlap with the veteran population (survivors of sexual assault and abuse) this type of estimate tends to fall low in documented sources rather than running high because people with PTSD do not trust others and have a range of reasons for not seeking help and not wanting to be diagnosed and counted. Therefore I believe your number could be possibly very low compared to reality.

Like Bart Ehrman says, copies of manuscripts, no matter how many, are no better than the original, which we don't have! All are compromised by the church. The gnostic texts are pristine, and tell the story of mystic mastership succssion becoming the inversion of 'Betrayal' in the canon. THAT is the real story of fictional Christ -- James becoming 'Judas' and being hidden by the betrayal fiction. There was no Jesus or Jesus kids.

No sky fairy was invoked in this article. The author references the global flood event recorded in Biblical texts because that is the one most Westerners are familiar with. If your personal prejudices against Biblical religions leaves you incapable of rational thought, feel free to substitute any of the thousand-plus accounts of a global deluge from different peoples, religions and cultures from all over the world. Most of them are told from within a metaphysical or religious perspective, but it is easy enough to disconnect the metaphysics from the physics.
