Maybe she was a witch and those markings were to keep her from attacking after her life? I am sure that they Mayans had shamans, so maybe they had negative entities with magical powers. Maybe they didn't call her a witch, but some Native American tribes had witch lore.
they should not be in history books, since most is nonsense. e.g. the "Cherokees" were still in Ny area in 1500. they did not move south until early 1700, slaughtering all the local tribes on their rampage.

"Classics professors looking to justify their tenure have made a lot of the ins and outs of these two festivals."-' why was this necessary? Why did you feel the need to tack shots at people who are trying to learn and teach? This rudeness was unnecessary and undermines the credibility of your writing. If you have some great insight, share it, but there is no need for such arrogant rudeness.
Please do your homework instead of going to the movies. Narmer (Meni, Gr. Menes) and Scorpio are two different kings. Narmer's Horus name is written with a catfish and chisel signs and that of Scorpio is writted with (surprise)... a scorpio ideogram! Narmer started the 1st dynasty as the unifier of Upper and Lower Egypt, he is present in Manetho and Turin king list. While Scorpio is one of elusive rulers of the so called 'zero dynasty' before Narmer with almost no historical record and is known mostly after those very mace heads in Ashmolean museum bearing his (i.e. Scorpio's) name.
The author of this article left out 4 very important lines about Jacob and what he said when Jacob awoke from his sleep/dream. This lines were this.....” WHEN JACOB AWOKE FROM HIS SLEEP, HE EXCLAIMED, ‘TRULY, THIS IS IN THIS SPOT, ALTHOUGH, I DID MOT KNOW IT!’ “. IN SOLEMN WONDER HE CRIED OUT: “HOW AWESOME IS THIS SHRINE! THIS IS NOTHING ELSE BUT AN ABODE OF GOD, AND THAT IS THE GATEWAY TO HEAVEN!”
Page 14 of The Annals of Clonmacnoise it says in the 12th year of the reign of Semiramis to the 33rd of Baleus there reigned the first monarch and eight monarchs in Assyria begun by Nibroth (Nimrod), son of Chus (Cush) who is son of Cham (Ham) who is son of Noeh (Noah).
It says Nibroth (Nebu from Nbwt) was a real pain in the butt.who was a great hunter in the eyes of the lord before Djoser's Decree and the 1/10th tax. https://archive.org/stream/annalsofclonmacn00mage#page/14/mode/2up
Kush is Chus is Zeus is Dios too
Nebu of Nbwt is HaNebu the E1b1b V13 Ionian Greek of Cyrene (Syene) called Euboean, Nubian, Nibiru, Nabada and Naqada too
Makes far more sense than oversized burial vaults for bulls. My thought is what else could have been in the chambers that might have conducted the energy from the vaults to other sites, copper wire perhaps?
The idea that it was an audio tuned warning system is fabulous but wouldn't they be as well served by having a room full of cats or frogs who would go nuts if a land based cataclysmic event was about to happen.
Look forward to further articles and comments, thank you both!
Due to sharing a very similar diet, it is believed that Neanderthals and early humans competed for the same resources and that Neanderthals sorely loss. However, research has found that the genomes of Homo sapiens and Neanderthals are 99.84 percent genetically identical, and have fewer than 100 proteins that differ in their amino acid sequence. Did Neanderthals really lose then? We know early humans mated with Neanderthals. Many modern humans have Neanderthal DNA in them still. That's remarkable its continued to this day and age. It may be possible that many Neanderthals were simply assimilated and absorbed by early humans. This can simply be due to population size. While there could have been thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands Neanderthals, there simply were more early humans migrating into Neanderthal territory and the incoming numbers simply did not stop. That would then mean that at one point in time there would simply be way more early humans than Neanderthals. Its just numbers. That's all. Not that Neanderthals were intellectually inferior, became completely extinct, or lost these hunger games.
This article was truly enlightening. Thank you for writing this. Neanderthals taking care of the deaf and disabled, burying their dead and perhaps even offering flowers to them, and making their own jewelry shows a truly creative people to me. This is a far cry from being the dumb brutish cavemen people misconceive about them. We have a lot to learn about the neanderthals. I truly believe we may be surprised by what we come to find. How can we think so lowly of them when many of us modern day humans have a small piece of them within us in our own DNA. We are part neanderthals. This could have only been a good thing for our survival as a species as diversity creates stronger offspring in the end.
Hi, thanks for your perfect job.

I am willing to accept that I may be wrong but I really believe in due time we will come to discover that neanderthals were a lot smarter, ingenious and creative than we give them credit for. We first pictured them as brutish people living in caves. But the more we learn of them, the more it seems that this was very far from the case. You have to wonder if neanderthals migrated to various parts of the world long before Cro Magnon - they were certainly curious or wise enough to know they had to leave in order to survive.
It's a strong point that we need to look at history without bias. It's important to remember there are many sides to great events. In the Crusades it's important to remember that even amongst the Christians, there was more than just one side. The West often only examines the Roman Catholic Christians battling Islam and "forgets" the many Eastern Orthodox who were slaughtered by the Romans even while the Muslims were killing them too. And I'm sure the Orthodox turned around and joined in the hatred and killing as well. May God Who Is Merciful forgive us all. It seems too often the Crusades are brought up by this side or that, by anyone who wants to pick and choose from amongst the truth the bits which best serve the propaganda required to suit today's challenge rather that looking at the whole. Sad, sad, sad humans.
I have suspected for some time that the purpose of this facility was related to the piezoelectric effect of the granite boxes, but the effect is too weak to be used as a power source. Rather I think it was a detection system of some sort. Note how they are placed underground where they can be isolated from effects on the surface, much as we put sensitive detectors underground in old mines. But what were they detecting?
Maybe changes in the Schumann Resonance? If you could make something mechanically resonate to that, you could create harmonics into the audible range, which trained listeners could monitor. That might allow for an alert of major catastrophes at a distance, which could be very useful. Especially for any society that had experienced whatever events transpired at ca. 12,000ya.

The longer I live the more I wonder about the sanity of some people.
Does this remind anyone else of Norse mythology. You have swords, valkaries, people in armor, and I seen Loki in there too

Newgrange was dedicated to reincarnation
The art of memory at sacred sites allowed the reincarnated to remember their previous life

Actually one mace head from Hierakonpolis belonged to Narmer and another one to Scorpio. Which of course does not make the two the same person.
