Thomas - I do like your post and opinions on the mystery sites and as they relate to religious recordings. As a retired engineer I attempt to identify the 5 W's for each site or artifact as it relates to measurable data or confirmed artifacts. 1- The Flood (recorded in Old and New world) When you look at the solar system you will find our sun and its planets are closest to the center of the Milky Way in its 20,000 year cycle. (Ice age cycle?) Recorded sea levels have risen about 1 foot every 100 years. We are currently experiencing global warming do to this ice age cycle. Soon the earth will be cooling to re-set for the next ice age. As the polar ice melts the fresh water dilutes the salt water of the sea. This lowers the freezing point of the pack ice which melts over time. When you look at the Atlantic it has four basic sides. North Pole, South Pole, Americas and Europe. As the pack ice melts the north and south distance becomes longer as well as the added weight of water at 1 foot per 100 years. Over time this effect will be catastrophic on the active fault line in the Atlantic and allow many land masses to disappear. This was recorded in stone at Coba Mexico, however the stones were removed in 1937 by the German Government and lost during the war. The only existence of this is a photographors photo by Valentine. In summary - The following questions may provide a proven history of our world and likely a look into the future. When was the ice ages?, What was their effects? Where was the earth most effected? Why is their ice ages? Who made them?

There is also the theory of the lost continent of Mu. Knowing that all the islands are merely the tops of mountains, a catastrophic event could have sunk the continent, forcing the people to flee.

I read a book recently where the author postulated that Akrotiri (Thera) was called Atlantis by the Geeks because they believed that Atlas stood on the mountain to hold up the world. The book was fiction but the author puts quite a bit of true history in her books. Made me think that Plato either mixed up the two Atlantises or combined them when he wrote his tale. Regardless, it seems logical that the people escaped either to Crete or to Greece. As I understand it, the eruption occurred in 2 phases, a smaller first one then the larger one that blew the island apart. The people would have had plenty of time to get away.

Have you thought about writing an article for "Ancient Origins" making the distinctions between the peoples of the British Isles so that readers and hopefully future writers will be more correct in their articles?

Hello Michael & R. C. The Bible says there was a great flood. I believe it. Many Creation stories, from many different religions, mention a great flood. The Hopi say that the Earth was destroyed by fire (heat), ice (the ice age), and water (a great flood) in the past and I believe them. Scientist, geologists, all say there was a great flood and ice ages. I believe them. But for some reason, no one connects the melting ice caps with the flood. Where did the water come from for the flood? Could Mother Earth have a reoccurring cycle? At the present time, where are we at in this cycle?

The seven coils of the Serpents shadow, on the pyramid at Chichen Itza, go up and down on the solstices at the present time. I think the Serpent mound in Ohio use to do the same thing on the winter solstice. If you turned the Earth and the Serpent mound to line up with the winter solstice how would the earthworks line up with North, South, East ,west and the solstices? You might also check the direction of the Avenue of the Dead in Mexico with this North pole direction.

I do not think the Serpent Mound is eating the moon, I think its eating the Earth. It has seven coils as the Creator said he would return seven time to fix Earth’s problem. It has three direction changes as it represents his third try: http://www.ancient-origins.net/opinion-guest-authors/interpreting-murals...

The moon cycle measured on the petroglyphs spiral stone circles are the 18.6 year minimum and maximum declination of the moon. Anna Sofaer explains this in her 30 year study of Chaco Canyon. Her DVD “The Mystery of Chaco Canyon” might give you additional information about the Ohio site. as info. tom

I agree that it may yet be found. However, I’m not certain we can take at face value Homer’s assertion that Odysseus made the journey home in one night. Sometimes, details can be changed for the sake of the story line so it’s possible the archaeologists are looking in the wrong places

visit to forbidden city was interesting but after buying entry ticket and before i could actually walk into the place i waws swarmed by people trying to sell me trinkets etc. i appreciated being able to wander about without much bother of a guide or other means of herding about. i could take my time and view everything nicely, revisiting any certain displays as i saw fit to achieve further understanding. the forbidden city and the long wall both had pathways and stone thresholds that were well worn by foot traffic over the millennia and now my footsteps were also recorded there! i guess the khan pallace is not much to see but the added information is great for the long list included in the forbidden city... thank you for the article

During the second war with the Romans, the Bar Kokhba Revolt, Jews struck silver coins (selas) that pictured the facade of the old temple with the Ark of the Covenant at the center. The inscription on the obverse of these coins was written in ancient script translating "For the Freedom of Israel". Making these coins was a violation of Roman law that could be punishable by death. Never the less, these coins were a rallying cry to end Roman domination.

We have the same problem over here, for the most part, the teaching of English history is lacking, in fact, the period between the fall of the Roman Province and 1066 is hardly touched upon, therefore such historical figures as Athelfead or Alfred her Father are for the most part forgotten.

In point of fact the Education system over here is laughably Politically Correct, perhaps laughably is the wrong word, perhaps dangerous is more apt? For the most part, revisionism to suit a political agenda?

a people who have no knowledge of their heritage, origins and past, have no future!!

If the theory of the Bering Land Bridge is correct, the sea levels in the Pacific would have been lower, making it much easier to island hop to the Polynesian islands. Would also fall in line with several area myths/legends regarding flooding.

    Hi there,
I noticed that it was mentioned in this article that, in referring to Genesis 3:22, God "alerted other Gods to be on alert" that Adam and Eve had eaten of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and could now become all-knowing as they were.

As a Christian, I would like to gently clarify that this is not what that verse means. In the Christian faith we believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; one supreme being with three different forms. However, still one and only one God. (To make this concept easier to grasp, think of it like water. Water is always H2O molecules, but it can take on three different forms: solid, liquid, or gas. Nevertheless, it's still H2O no matter what form it is in.)

That being said, in the context of this verse (and also in Gensis 1:26), the most logical conclusion for God referring to himself in the plural is that He is referring to himself in the context that he is all three Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The God of the Bible is a relational God, relational first within himself as we can see in Genesis, at the very beginning of time. The "us" in this verse is not referring to God and other gods; it is referring to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I know this verse can be confusing , and that's why I wanted to clear it up. I hope this helps!

Believe it or not, the whole of the UK is often lumped as simply England here in the USA. Our public education system is somewhat lacking.

Yes, each state has its own flag. But that was not true in the USA until the War Between the States. The US flag served all the states until then.

Yes, that does explain much, the on going mix of England/Britain and visa-versa, and English/British while the Scots are Scots, Welsh are Welsh and the Irish are Irish, yet while we English and our Country are simply lumped as British and the Flag of the Political Union of Great Britain is marked as England's flag when it is obviously not, but the flag of the whole of the British Union. It would be construed as an insult to any State of the US, if the Stars and Stripes were put down over here in England as the flag of one particular State in the US, when it is not, I believe State has its own State flag?

My problem with the simplifying of things in Britain by historians and none historians in the US, is that with the crumbling state of the Union in Britain since the introduction of the rather unequal and lob-sided Devolution, where England is missed out altogether, E.G. without its own Parliament, the lumping of the English with the term British/English and England/Britain is becoming offensive, as it would in Scotland or Wales or Northern Ireland if they were lumped in as English and therefore England!

I have put together a series of attributes of Jesus that makes more sense than he actually being a real person.  There is no physical evidence of his existence and his story fits in the narrative and the proof and evidence is plain to see even in these times.  I would like to share it with you, but not in this public setting at this time. I am working on another book that this will be the central theme and I want to keep it to be exposed there publicly. I would like to use this article as another piece of evidence to my narrative.  How can I get your official permission?
