A few names here look familiar to Cornish related names, similiar but not exact. Cor Tewdws, Tewdws is similiar to Tewdwr, Tewdwr Mawr ((Breton for "Theodore the Great) being a king of Cornwall originally from a royal family in France. Meriasek, 4 th century saint of Camborne, Cornwall, was son of Conan Meriadoc, guy who founded Britainy, he and Tewdwr knew each other, as visible in his miracle play Beunans Meriasek. Cornwall and Britany have always had a relationship, until recent years at least.

Find this quote on page 87. The author is referring to the city of cities (Mexico City) as the city of Atlantis. The other city which is part of Atlantis, is on the Florida Plain across the Gulf of Mexico:

Here is the link to the book “Our Story of Atlantis, scroll down.

    http://www.hermetics.org/pdf/ancient/W.P._Phelon_-_Our_Story_of_Atlantis...

“From the mountains the city of cities extends in a circular form southward. Beyond the immense area occupied by the city proper is still another, comprising upwards of 75,000 square miles, which has been cultivated from time immemorial, and is in fact one vast garden. This is liberally irrigated from the river and from a canal 600 feet in width and 100 feet deep, extending through the country 1,2OO miles. Not only are these waters used for irrigation, but through a system of locks at the port, galleys are raised and lowered into the grand canal, where they both receive and distribute cargoes of all kinds of products in the interests of commerce.”

The first city of Atlantis was situated on the Florida Plain across the Gulf of Mexico from the second larger city. The building were washed away, but the canals are still in place. I will send you a link.

    Dennis,

What text can I find Dr. Phelon’s research on the possible location of Atlantis?

Also, I do find your Caribbean origin theory interesting.
There is some evidence that suggests the Caribbean Basin may be the lost home of Atlantis.
The basin is rectangular, and fit the proportions suggested by Plato (Plato also says Atlantis was lost during the same period as the Younger Dryas event). I believe as you do, that this basin was landlocked and dry at the end of the last ice age, and the meteor impact of 10,000 BC caused the flooding that destroyed it (by overflowing both the Gulf of Mexico through the Mississippi River that it created, and overflowing the mountain ranges that previously held out the Atlantic).
The Caribbean lies across from the Straights of Gibraltar and would have been accessible to the ancients via the Atlantic current (as evidenced by the ancient Malian, Egyptian, and Sumerian presence in North and South America).
Your theory fits much better if it occurred after this flood in history.

    Thank you Nick!
Sorry Brad, your article was interesting, however, you lost me in the first paragraph failing any mention of the 10,000 BC meteor strike.
I agree that there is ample evidence for the local flood you mention, but believe 'The Great Flood' was much much earlier than generally believed.
There is much evidence going back to the 1920's (See J. Harlen Bretz, Randall Carlson, and The Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis) of there being a massive meteor strike across the northern hemisphere and centering on the North American icecaps. THIS event caused the massive world-wide flooding that ancient cultures have been recording as well as the extinction of the mega-fauna.

The impact would have kicked up debris and dust into the air causing the reported 'black rain' and darkness.
The instant melting of the icecaps would cause immediate flooding in coastal areas worldwide as well as put massive amounts of steam/vapor into the air causing the reported rain for days.

IMO, This is where the story is. This research deserves writing about, or at least a mention.

Biological factors are the most fearful forms of nightmares or at least they should. Biological factors such as viruses coming to life after being dormant for thousands of years that the human immune system has written out of the DNA code through breeding would be devastating to humanity because they jump from one system to another system rapidly and often times disappear into the background of nature once they have done their damage.

Humans are still considered to be Great Apes, along with gorillas, orangatans, and chimpanzees. All three groups are still evolving, but have proceeded along different paths due to different selective forces and random mutations.Remember, evolution in biology, doesn’t refer to a speices becoming a higher organism or something greater than what it already is. Evolutionary biology respond to natural selection, and sometimes what enables a speices to survive is what we would consider to be more primal traits.

Both men called the Florida Plain, the Plain of Atlantis. Here is one example.

    Dr. Phelon:

“This city was across the gulf from the immense plateau occupied by the grand city. It covers upwards of 75,000 square miles and had been cultivated from time immemorial and was one vast garden. This plain was liberally irrigated from the river, which was a canal 600 feet in width and 100 feet in depth, extending around the plain 1,2OO miles. Not only were these waters used for irrigation, but through a system of locks at the port, galleys could be raised and lowered into the Grand Canal where they both received and distributed cargo.”

    Plato:

“Looking towards the sea, but in the centre of the whole island, there was a plain which is said to have been the fairest of all plains and very fertile.”

“The whole country was said by him to be very lofty and precipitous on the side of the sea, but the country immediately about and surrounding the city was a level plain, itself surrounded by mountains, which descended towards the sea. It was smooth and even, and of an oblong shape, extending in one direction three thousand stadia, but across the centre inland it was two thousand stadia. This part of the island looked towards the south, and was sheltered from the north.”

Appalachian Mountains surround Florida tot he North. How did Plato know this?
