I wouldn't say drinking spirits was considered part of a refined lifestyle as it still is today. The managerial classes use social networking to go for meals with eachother regularly where they eat as much as they want, drink and smoke plenty and then go home about half ten and sleep it off. Well, the men anyway, women generally keep sober.

Several years ago, I made a comment about a similar type of specie that may still exist in another part of Luzon. They are called, if I am correct, Pupulagaw or Papulagaw (or something sounding similar) and they are known to live up on the branches of trees in the mountain region of Kalinga or Ifugao. I was told that the locals of these areas are aware of these small people and that from time to time, they have been spotted on the ground. At one occassion, it was also reported that a female of the said people was seen nursing a child while on the ground just below a massive tree there they are believed to dwell. Further report from the same person estimate the height of their female to be about a little over 3 feet tall while their men are about over 3 feet to 4 feet tall and that they communicate to each other using bird calls when they sense an intrusion to their territory by other people. If a member or members of these tree dwelling small people are still alive, they may just be descendants of the small people unearthed at the Callao Cave or the Indonesian Homo Florensiensis.

Many things don't seem to add up for me. The scale of the rocks indicate a much smaller map. The rocks are more detailed than his maps of much smaller areas. The survey lines don't work for this map, just try and join a few up. The curvature of the globe would make these almost impossible to survey especially when detailed to small rock formations indicated and specific points. The drawings on the top land mass (Africa?)  have been drawn on a totally different angle to the other drawings suggesting they are not part of the original design, their tone and colours are different also. If you place the perimeter of this map over an actual map of the globe much more should be included, this would include all of Sth America and much more of America. Although I see a resemblance to the coast of Sth America too much seems difficult to accept. For this reason I searched for areas of the globe that this could also represent. My search found another old map that was very similar. The references and google coordinates are included in earlier comments I have made. I would love to hear any feed back on this bay and the other map.

    Cheers Barry

Your obsession with the adjective “nomadic” is rather strange!

The description of the Nabataean Kingdom as a “Nomadic” is probably inspired by emptional or religious considerations which as usual, do not translate into history!

The “Nomadic Nabataeans” controlled trade reaching China in the East, Sri Lanka in the South and used the ports of the Philistines and the Phoenicians to reach Europe.

Their impact on trade in their region led to even the introduction of Arabic Hebrew used by Hebrew traders which dominated the more active part of the Hebrew tribes well before Hebrew became extinct and gave way to Aramaic and Greek!

Annoying facts I am sure, but it is enough to look at Petra to see that the Nabataean civilization reached a level of civilization not reached by others in the region, including the Israelites!

Where in Palestine do you see structureslike those in Petra and Mada’in Saleh, even if one is to take seriously your proposition that they actually did not build them themselves, a queer proposition to say the least?

You might argue that Solomon’s Great Temple is an example of a matching structure – an only structure, only that we cannot find an evidence it was ever built, and the learned archaeologists, such as Dr. Israel Finkelstein, who heads the Department of Archaeology at Tel Aviv University, and his colleagues there, in the Netherlands and at Harvard, came to the conclusion that the wretched King Solomon did not even exist, and the existence of his father David is itself in doubt!

That makes the Nabataean civilization shines even brighter…

Foerster, who has no scientific background, has made a lot of false claims about the paracas skulls to sell his books and videos.  Namely, the capacity of the elongated skulls are well within normal human range even though he says they are outside of it, the sagittal sutures do fuse and dissapear in some people as they get older (he treats it as a non-human feature), and the foramen magnus (the hole where the spinal column enters) is in the correct position on the paracas skulls.  He says its not.  It only looks futher back because the artificial deformation due to head binding has squished the back of the skull up and forward.  The foreamen magnum is right where its supposed to be near the jaw.

The writer speaks about the boundaries of the Nabataean territoy extending south to the edge
of the Dead Sea…. then incorporates in Nabatea Mada’in Saleh, which is no less than a few hundred miles south of the the southern edge of the Dead Sea!

Which of these limits are true?

"Some scholars believe that it was written at the same time as the rest of the Mahabharata while others believe that it was added centuries later by devotees of Krishna. Either way, most scholars believe that it post-dates the life of Siddhartha Gautama ."

Jataka tales of Buddhism talk about the Buddha teaching Krishna in his past life. So Krishna surely existed before Buddha. Who taught whom is not the debate here, I will focus on chronology.
If the Mahabharata anf Gita were written as a historical record around the actual event, it should be before Gautama's time. If Gita was added later then it can be at any time. So it is not so sure that it post dates the life of Gautama

I does sound like the story of Adam and Eve. And I'm very disappointed in Zeus, in this story he is the evil snake (the devil) in the Holy American Bible. I had alot of respect for Zeus until I knew this full story. He should of been more intelligent being a God. In this story he acts like a child at kid. Gods should be forgiving and kind in their lessons. I'm also speaking about my American God as well.

The dates are not the only thing about this item that may be wobbly.  It also contains the idiotic, math-challenged statement that 40 years of age was “old” for that time period.  The “PhD” that made said statement should be forced to retake Statistics 101.  Or maybe even high-school Math.

Fascinating confirmation of the sharing of medical knowledge across cultures in ancient times. Great to see the involvement of my old Alma Mater UCC ("Where Finbarr taught, let Munster learn") in this enterprise. Ireland has ancient recognised history in the practice of medicine (as with Law). Whilst Saint Fabiola is credited with establishing the first Christian hospital in Rome circa fourth century AD, ancient Irish records show that hospitals existed in Ireland around 300 BC. The Brehon Laws laid down the conditions for their operation. During the 'Dark Ages', the practice of medicine in Ireland was widely known in Europe and Irish medical schools were famous. Irish language medical literature is regarded as the largest collection of medical literature existing in any one tongue before the nineteenth century. Most of the works date from between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries, with, hitherto, the oldest surviving tract dating from 1352 AD. À la recherche du temps perdu, n'est ce pas? Not a decent thing to do I suppose, though humans have been doing it for eons... But how is this to compare in magnitude to the defacement of the Black Hills of South Dakota when four giant faces were carved into it? I guess defacement is only ok if the land is sacred to Native Americans. ..

I was not even aware of Pictish Christianity and Pictish churches until now. One might think that, if they were Christian, more would be known about this culture. Perhaps they were Gnostic and much was suppressed. I have been finding that many areas of this part of the world practiced a more Gnostic form especially Finland and throughout the Celtic world down to the south of France.

Jews were not well regarded in the ancient world. Although Christianity appealed to them, they balked at the idea of worshiping a Jewish god.
