Ogygia was not the “omphalos” of sea. It was an island “far away at sea”. It was Ortygia (notice the phonetic resemplance), the ancient name of Delos (before the birth of Apollo and Artemis) that was considered the center of the Aegean sea. The same name (Ortygia) bears the small island very close (connected with bridges) to the mainland of Syracuse in Sicily.
In "Egyptology: The Missing Millennium," Okasha el-Daly argues that scholars of the Islamic empire translated ancient Egyptian texts centuries before Champollion. Cleopatra VII, referred to as a "scholar" in these texts, was admired for her intellect and linguistic abilities. While some medieval sources contain historical inaccuracies, the overall view of Cleopatra was one of respect for her academic and leadership skills.
At the stern of most of these ships there can be seen a ram type protrusion (for ex. in the first picture, lower right) which obviously is not a ram, been at the stern. In MINOA it can also be seen (at about 2.10). Archaeologist Shelley Wachsmann in his book «Seagoing Ships & Seamanship in the Bronze Age Levant» (pages 92, 93, 106) names his protrusion «Horizontal Stern Device» and considers it had a ritualistic role. The late Greek archaeologist S. Marinatos speculated that it could serve as a WC!, but most probably it served as a ramp to board the ship and protect it from the rocks when mooring in rocky coast, stern first.
Absolutely fascinating. Rarely, do we get an almost complete snapshot of ancient people, their clothes and accoutrements. This is a sensational find and I can’t wait to see if more discoveries are made. Thank you.
Just a little warning! Never think that such plants want to 'give people wisdom'. Most plants were around long before people. Plants use these substances to deceive their natural enemies, to help them obtain food, as a communication aid in reproduction, as a communication aid in symbioses with other plants, or as a means of communication between plants of the same species or something like that. Ayahuasca for example, which has been around in South America much longer than people, does contain DMT, a natural human body substance, but the doses you get during an Ayahuasca session completely overload the very subtle natural human system! No wonder you get all those bizarre hallucinations. Moral of the story: don't think you can get wisdom from the hallucinogenic substances in plants! It is for the most part a total deception!
El Daly's work invites us to reconsider the narrative of Egyptology and recognize the contributions of Islamic scholars in the preservation of ancient knowledge. https://finalgrade-calculator.com/
I think this fails on two grounds. Firstly the environmental conditions in the Rift Valley may have been more fertile two three million years ago, as it is the area borders large fresh water lakes. Secondly, there is evidence early humans were protected by volcanic environments in the Rift Valley from large mammal predators. This context doesn't seem to have been covered. Thirdly, there are extensive evacuations happening in Southern Africa on early human sites. Again, not something mentioned in the report.
Here’s the clue: “ … study … pegged the Shroud's origin somewhere between 1260 AD and 1390 AD, right around the time it made its first documented appearance in France during the 1350s.”
What would be the most revered and amazing artifact in history completely disappeared for 1350 years, during the times when the relic industry was booming especially beginning during the time of Constantine (4th Century, his wife ‘found’ a fragment of the Cross), and every conceivable type of relic was being flogged to every church in Europe and the Middle East; a limitless supply.
This appears to be an unresolvable mystery. Unless methods in the future are able to identify Jesus’ blood, or some other method is found, no one will ever know the truth about this shroud. Perhaps, that’s the best outcome.
Why one should not be content with Virgil’s version of Aeneid, i.e. spending time with Dido queen of Carthage, sailing to Sicily and paying a visit to Underword before settling in Italy?
It is irrational to think that the first place Aeneas to visit was Thrace in Britain. Do you realise how far Britain is from Troy, while the historic Thrace is close by, and the Thracians were their allies?
It is pretty obvious that Virgil is mimicking Homer’s Odyssey, and it is more than obvious why so: to please Augustus and to provide a heroic background to Romans. Is it a coincidence that Odysseus’ first stop was also in Thrace, but in order to raid it?
If Odyssey may be one time fictional, Aeneid is ten times so, thus to look for any alternate route (and arbitrarily rejecting ancient -and nowdays- Thrace for Norfolk’s “Thrace” and magically “teletransporting” Aeneid’s fleet there and then back to Italy), it is completely futile.
Dating the Temple can't be first century AD, as that would be after Jesus's time. It would have to be turn of that millennium to be considered as something Jesus interacted with.

Ive read in my Bible that was published in the late 1800’s about the Zodiac @ the temple of Esnah. Do your homework, Dr. Mostafa Waziri.

How were the Pyramids of Giza constructed? I’m always curious about this question.
