Richard Firth Green

Richard Firth Green is Humanities Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus at The Ohio State University and acted as Director of the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies from 2006 to 2013.

He is the author of  Elf Queens and Holy Friars: Fairy Beliefs and the Medieval Church  (2016), A Crisis of Truth: Literature and Law in Ricardian England (1998), and  Poets and Princepleasers: Literature and the English Court in the Late Middle Ages  (1980), as well as numerous articles in such journals as S peculum, Medium Aevum, Chaucer Review,  and Studies in the Age of Chaucer.   He is a former John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellow (1989-90), a past President of the New Chaucer Society (2008-20010), and a past Counsellor for the Medieval Academy of America.
