Studied engineeering at the Basingstoke and Southampton Colleges of Technology, and read Environmental Science, Archaeology and Spanish at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.

William's primary subject became Archaeoastronomy; a subject which involves many cross-disciplines like Archaeology, Anthropology and Ethnography, but his chosen path was to understand the relationships between ancient  architecture and astronomy, especially relative to the earliest Cultures resident in the Andean Highlands and Coastal Lowlands of Southern Peru.
