Recent excavations at the Gnezdilovo burial ground, near the historic town of Suzdal in Russia, are offering fresh insights into the region's early medieval history. Led by the Suzdal expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Historical Museum, this multi-year dig has uncovered a wealth of information about the people who lived and died in North-Eastern Rus' over a millennium ago.
