Archaeologists using the latest drone and radar technology have identified a major pre-Columbian settlement in Florida. They have discovered what appears to have been a significant settlement on the island of Raleigh. The experts have uncovered evidence that could transform the history of Florida and nearby states. The settlement was found on the northern Gulf Coast of Florida. An archaeological site had been identified here in 1990. ‘Then, in 2010, a subsequent exploration of the area revealed the presence of a settlement dating from 900 to 1200 CE’ reports the Daily Express.
