Ramessid Dynasty
The Ramessid Dynasty, which lasted from 1279 to 1213 BCE, was the last great dynasty of the New Kingdom period of Ancient Egypt. The period is named after its most famous pharaoh, Ramses II, who is considered one of the greatest pharaohs in Egyptian history.
During the Ramessid Dynasty, Egypt saw a revival of its power and influence after a period of decline. The pharaohs of this dynasty undertook impressive construction projects, including the construction of grand temples and statues, and engaged in military campaigns to expand Egypt's territory and influence.
In addition to Ramses II, other notable pharaohs of the Ramessid Dynasty include Seti I, who oversaw the construction of the famous Temple of Karnak, and Ramses III, who successfully defended Egypt against a major invasion by the Sea Peoples.
