Fears Satanists May Be Attacking Animals in Britain

Print

A number of animals have been brutally killed in Britain and some believe that they were slain by Satanists. Symbols associated with devil worship were found painted on two of the dead creatures.

These horrific incidents occurred in one of the most picturesque parts of England. There are now fears that there may be a group of Satanists active in this area.

The attacks on the animals all happened in the famous New Forest National Park, Hampshire, in the south of England, near the sleepy villages of Linwood and Bramshaw. This is an area of pastureland and woodland. So far two sheep have been killed as well as a heifer and two calves. They were all stabbed in a number of separate incidents in less than a week.

Evidence of Satanism

One of the slain sheep was found near the village of Bramshaw, by local resident Judy Rudd. She was out walking her dog when she came across a bloodied ewe. The poor sheep had been stabbed in the rib cage and side. Ms. Rudd told the Metro that “It had purple and green aerosol symbols sprayed on it. It was a pentagram and a cross”.

The pentagram and an inverted cross are signs that have been historically used by Satanists since the Early Medieval Period. Another dead sheep was found stabbed to death with similar symbols, not far away, sometime previously.

In the same week that Ms. Rudd found the dead sheep there were three other attacks. Sky News, reports that “a heifer was discovered with a wound to its neck and two calves had injuries to their shoulders in the Bramshaw and Linwood areas”. The injuries the calves and heifers sustained were so bad that they had to be euthanized.

Satanic Symbols Sprayed on Church

On the 20th of November, unidentified vandals sprayed Satanic graffiti on St. Peter’s Church in Bramshaw. An inverted cross was painted on a wall and the number 666, was sprayed on the doors of the historic place of worship.

A number of phallic symbols were also painted onto the Norman era church, which dates to the 12th century. Rev. David Bacon, vicar of St. Peter’s Church stated that “We have had very minor incidents in the past, little bits of graffiti, it doesn't happen very often, nothing like this” according to Sky News.

The viciousness of the attacks and the symbols used by the attackers has prompted speculation that there is a group of Satanists operating in the New Forest. Julian Rudd, whose wife found one of the dead sheep, stated that “I think it's reasonable to say that it's not just some boys making a joke”, reports Disclose.tv. Many now in the local community fear that there is something very sinister in their locality.

Tradition of Witchcraft

The New Forest is a very rural area and it has a long tradition in magic and the occult, indeed, several local businesses trade on the locality’s associations with fairies. However, there was also a history of witchcraft and black magic in the area. There is possibly a long tradition of Satanism in Britain. A plaque and an altar were found that had Satanic symbols, in Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh, that dates to the Middle Ages.

The New Forest is unique as local people still employ a traditional form of agriculture. Locals still graze their animals on common land - they are known as ‘commoners’. The attacks on the animals are regarded as a threat to this practice, which is centuries old.

Fears of Locals

The New Forrest Commoners’ Defence Association, which promotes the rights of the commoners is very concerned. Many of those who keep animals are only part-time farmers and have day jobs. Tony Hockley, chairman of the association, stated that “Things like this will deter people from carrying on the tradition of grazing animals in the forest, and that hurts everyone” reports the Advertiser & Times.

The Hampshire police are investigating the incidents and treating them very seriously. They are trying to determine if they are linked and the motives behind the attacks.

Local law enforcement has stressed that such incidents are practically unheard of in the area. Hampshire police have also called for the public to come forward with any information that may be helpful in their investigation.
