Evidence linking Ancient Chinese and Americans

Evidence linking Ancient Chinese and Americans

Recently, we published an article saying that China is getting more interested in investigating human origins supporting the idea that China may have been the cradle of ancient humans. This theory was first proposed a decade ago when 500,000-year-old skulls of Homo erectus were found close to Beijing. However, the theory didn’t survive for long and we are all familiar with the mainstream theory that humans started from Africa and then expanded all over the World. However, there is also alternative evidence suggesting that homo sapiens actually originated in Australia.

Recently, scientists have found genetic evidence in a cave that links Naïve Americans with Chinese people, probably showing how humanity spread across the different continents. A caveman that was found in China (the earliest Homo sapiens discovered in China) was studied by Qiaomei Fu at the Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and was found that his DNA is related to Native Americans probably giving more clues about how people migrated to America from Asia.

Comparing the DNA of the Chinese caveman to Neanderthal DNA has shown that all humans outside of Africa share about 4% of Neanderthal DNA showing that there has been an interbreeding between homo species. However no evidence of Neanderthals has been found in Africa. So the theory is that humans that apparently left Africa and moved to Europe and Asia somehow interbred with Neanderthals existing in Asia, Qiaomei Fu suggests.

We have already seen recent evidence showing that Neanderthals weren’t as unintelligent as we believed, which may further suggest that probably the two species cooperated and lived together for a period of time. But yet Neanderthals extinction was sudden and unexplained.

I think that it becomes evident that the origins of human kind is still a big mystery and while theories abound, scientists try to link the pieces together and provide a convincing evidence of our origins. Where we have truly come from is not proven yet and China is not the only candidate as the cradle of humanity, there are also suggestions that Australia may have been.
