Sweden's Great Lake monster, often referred to as "Storsjöodjuret" or the Storsjö Lake Monster, is a legendary creature said to inhabit the depths of Lake Storsjön in Jämtland County. Similar to other lake monsters around the world, the creature is described as a large serpent-like or dinosaur-like creature with humps protruding from the water. Legend has it that the first sighting of the Storsjöodjuret dates back to the 16th century, and numerous accounts have been reported over the centuries. Witnesses claim to have seen a creature measuring up to 20 feet long, with a snake-like head and a serpentine body. Some even believe it possesses the ability to swim on land. The tales of the Great Lake monster have become
