Utah is the only state in North America where a majority of the population belong to a single church; approximately 62% of the state population being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS (Mormons), whose world headquarters is located in Salt Lake City. How predictable it would be for me to write about the Mormons and the holy land they found in the state, but less so to look at the 10,000 years of ancient cultures in Utah - people who built homes in mountains and palaces deep in cliff faces with straw. Seeking the Very Ancient Origins Of Utah Utah is the 45th state in the western United States, admitted on January 4, 1896
