A tiny gold object pulled from a Norfolk field is forcing historians to look again at how the Viking “Great Heathen Army” moved through England. The pierced coin - worn as a pendant - was found at Elsing near Dereham in September 2024, and specialists think it was carried by one of the invaders who arrived in AD 865.
