Wonders of Rock Art – Lascaux Cave and Africa
In a first for Africa, the Wonders of Rock Art exhibition will allow you to experience the magnificent ancient rock art discovered in France’s world-famous Lascaux cave, while also providing insight into how South African artists contributed to humanity’s earliest rock-art masterpieces.
The Lascaux international exhibition includes an exact replica of the iconic Palaeolithic Lascaux cave paintings, allowing you to immerse yourself in a gallery of artworks that were hidden below the earth’s surface for about 17 000 years. The South African exhibit celebrates our even older rock art and provides opportunities to learn about the ingenuity and expertise of our artistic ancestors.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a world-class exhibition that promises to be innovative, interactive and engaging to visitors of all ages.
