Dubh Linn

In Ireland, a child’s skeleton dating to the Viking era has been found. The unearthing of a nearly complete child’s skeleton from the 9th or 10th century AD is an important one, but it is also mysterious. What makes this find so intriguing is that the child may have met a violent death. The archaeologists have possibly found a murder victim from over 1000 years ago. The mysterious child’s skeleton was unearthed in the Irish capital, Dublin. It was uncovered during construction work near Dublin Castle in the heart of the city. The remains were found at the location where the River Poddle entered Dubh Linn, or the ‘black pool,’ during historic times.
