Mexico's elongated Skulls

The 13 Alien-Like Skulls Found in Mexico‏

(Read the article on one page)

When archaeologists excavated the ancient burial site “El Cementerio,” near the Mexican village of Onavas, they made a shocking discovery. They unearthed 25 skulls, 13 of which were elongated and pointy at the back and did not look entirely human.

The burial site was first discovered by residents of the small village of Onavas back in 1999 when work was being carried out to build an irrigation system. It is the first pre-Hispanic cemetery found in the northern Mexican state of Sonora, and dates back around 1,000 years.

Out of the 25 individuals unearthed, 17 of them were children between 5 months and 16 years of age and only 1 was female. The children had no signs of disease or trauma indicating a cause of death.

Experts have theorized that the deformity of the skulls were intentionally produced through the ritual of head flattening, otherwise called cranial deformation, in which the skull is compressed between two wooden boards from childhood. Although the practice was common among pre-Hispanic populations of Mesoamerica and western Mexico, it is the first time that elongated skulls have been found in north of Mexico.

The earliest examples of cranial deformation extend back to the Neolithic Era approximately 10,000 years ago, and the practice has existed among many cultures around the world. The reason for the practice, however, is less clear. Some tribes have reported that they believe that those with elongated heads have greater intelligence. Other reasons have included enhanced beauty, increased social standing, or making them look fierce in war.

Brien Foerster, author and expert on elongated skulls, has presented some of the most spectacular research on the subject . He has found that while most skulls show clear signs of deliberate cranial deformation, there are a percentage of skulls - those found in Paracus, Peru - which are anatomically different and which cannot be explained by practices of head flattening. These skulls, he said, have a cranial volume that is 25% larger than conventional human skulls (cranial deformation does not increase volume), and which weigh 60% more. Brien Foerster outlines further differences: “they contain two small holes in the back of the skull, perpendicular to the cranial suture present in the parietal plate of the skull. Every normal human skull is composed of 3 major bone plates; the frontal plate, which ends at the upper part of the forehead, and the 2 parietal plates which lie behind this, intersecting the frontal plate making a “T” shape. The holes are thought by Lloyd to be natural; every human jaw has a small hole on either side which is for nerves and blood vessels to exit and feed the tissue there; these 2 holes at the back of the skull may perform the same function for the elongated skull. The other factor is that there is only one parietal plate, where there should be two.”

These findings are quite dramatic, yet strangely unreported in mainstream publications and media reports.

"ritual of head flattening"???? The Scientists are either ignorant, or lying. This ritual does not increase the density, weight, and overall volume of the skulls as you have witnessed here.

ancient-origins's picture

The skulls which were found that had a greater volume and weight were those recovered in Paracus, Peru , not the ones found in Mexico (see article here:  As far as I know, they haven't released any details about the anatomical features of the Mexican skulls, other than the fact that they are elongated. But if they did find out they were anatomically different, I am sure they wouldn't release that fact to the media!

They clearly stated that the ritual didn't do that, and they are sure what caused it. You should go back and re-read it again.

Please read the books of Carlos Castaneda you will find an authentic explanation, But here is a very short explanation in my own humble words: Don Juan teaches Castaneda about this. He says that human beings had more energetic mass around and above their heads before "a foreign installion" was put inside their heads. He says what we call 'our minds' is actually a predator that gives us fear and then it eats this emotion or feeling of anxiety or worrying. That is why most of the world suffers from stress and so many take stimulants like caffeine and sugar - Coca Cola, coffee, chocolate all give us nervous energy .... we are feeding the predator and we forget our inner smile, the inner peace, and inner silence that we need to connect to our light bodies. The only way to freedom is to conquer that fear and reconnect to our true inner voice and our heart connection with Mother Earth's consciousness. There are Mayan hieroglyphs where they desperately try with metal mechanical devices to elongate the skull again. People who can truly see energy will tell you that the crown chakra does not look like the multipetalled violet flower at all - it looks like a frigging bird cage on top of our heads. OR you know those disgusting head dryers in the peliquirias that they put on top of the ladies heads! Uff! Those stupid things give me the heebie jeebies! Anyway, these human skulls are what we looked like before, maybe what ALL Atlanteans looked like before. All spiritual practices have the same goal or meta - to reach inner silence...meditation, cantas, yoga, tai chi, chi kung, they are all trying to SHUT UP the parrot, or the 'monkey mind' like the Chinese call it. This foreign invasion that CONSUMED our highest frequencies, eventually it even had an effect on our physical bodies, according to some teachings this happened 26000 years ago. This has created the "suffering" of humanity. Debemos supera!

Carlos Castaneda is a sham and has been called out and proven time and time again his books are fiction...Do your research

Hi there, i thought you might like to know that those who are calling Castaneda a hoax are saying that his contact for his anthropological research, Don Juan Matues is fictional, not all the content of what he wrote. The system of knowledge that they say he used existing sources for is called Nagualism, and it is documented and studied. The most well known papers are by Daniel Brinton, called Nagualism. A study in Native American Folk-Lore and History from the Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society, Jan, 1894, and also this one: Iconography of the Nahual Human-Animal Transformations in Preclassic Guerrero and Morelos by GERARDO GUTIÉRREZ AND MARY E. PYE
You can access these papers on the internet. This system of knowledge was prevalent over all of pre-columbian Mesoamerica, and is still in practice today.

Thanks for your comments Marie, I have been amazed at the wealth of knowledge out there that I found when researching an essay I was writing to be found on Nagualism, as amazed at the ignorance of those who have been calling him a hoax without realizing what those detractors were talking about, which is not about the knowledge he presented but about him personally. It may or may not be true that he made up Don Juan, but the base of the ideas he presented is real, researchable for those who have doubts, and very important to people who want to be awake in this day and age.

Who was responsible for it 26000 years ago. However we find skulls predating this era by many thousands of years but have normal skulls like us.

angieblackmon's picture

so my question is, how long do you have to lay there with the boards on your head to accomplish this look? like the first 2-3 years of life when your skull is still forming and hardening? how do you eat, walk, or do anything? or would this be like night-time braces headgear..only worn for part of the day?! just curious...

love, light and blessings

There has been said 17 of them were children. That can be genetic mutation which is fatal (or not letting to live too much) like most of cerebral mutations.
"The children had no signs disease or trauma indicating cause of death." If it's a cerebral mutation, you can't identify disease or trauma generally.

Tsurugi's picture

What do you mean by "cerebral mutations"?
Any mutation of bone is easy to identify, from what I've read. Skull bone included. If these were mutations, it should be obvious.
Since cranial deformation is the usual explanation for such skulls, I take that to mean no bone mutation is in evidence.

Apparently the jury is still out on these skulls, as no explanation at all has been forthcoming as of yet.

These skulls are definitely not human as we understand the term how ever, they are reason for me to speculate that my own skull deformation was related to these skulls as like other native tribal folks, my folk thought these were indicators of 'special' leadership and abilities and particularly, of elitist maybe what we have here is evidence of non human refugees as asserted by Corey Goode and David Wilcox regarding similar finds in the Antarctic?

Was the Heretic Pharaoh Akhenaton in Fact the Father of Modern Monotheism?
This passage may read like a passage from the Old Testament of the Bible; but, this is a quote from the Hymn of Aten, a work by Pharaoh Amenhotep IV better known as Akhenaton. This so-called heretic king was the only known Pharaoh in Egyptian history who believed in a monotheistic doctrine when most of the ancient world adhered to polytheism.

Teotihuacan’s Lost Kings, a television special, took an hour long look at the great city, its inhabitants, and the excavation of the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, (also known as the Feathered Serpent Pyramid.) The program revealed evidence of advanced engineering built into a tunnel system, and placed directly underneath the Pyramid.
