Petros Koutoupis is an author and an independent historical researcher, focusing predominantly on the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age periods of the Eastern Mediterranean and general Near East. Fluent in modern Greek, Petros has additional knowledge in languages that include ancient & Biblical Greek, Biblical Hebrew, and a good fundamental understanding of Aramaic, Ugaritic, Phoenician, and Akkadian. He has always relied on the original sources for interpreting some of our most misunderstood historical and mythological texts.

His most recent book is: Biblical Origins: An Adopted Legacy

Biblical Origins: An Adopted Legacy ;

Other titles include: An Adopted Legacy: Neo-Assyrian Origin to Hebrew Lore

All books are available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many more locations.

In his latest historical published research, he wrote of the already known Documentary Hypothesis and made a courageous attempt to place a clearer date to the writings under the author we refer to as the Yahwist (J). As a result, our modern understanding of biblical history had to be re-evaluated for future scholarship. Confirmed by archaeology, orthography, grammatical, and poetic research, his latest book dates the author to the timeframe surrounding the reign of Hezekiah; specifically between 701 BCE to possibly the end of Hezekiah’s reign in 687 BCE. This was during the reign of Sennacherib, king of Assyria and the Neo-Assyrian Empire that controlled the Near East during this period.
