Large Stone Structure found under Sea in Israel

A strange structure was discovered in 2003 with the use of Sonars in the Sea of Galilee in Israel. It looked like a cone shaped structure with a diameter of 70 meters and a height of 10 meters estimated to be about 60,000 tons.

Scuba divers that inspected the structure found out that it is made of basalt boulders. It looks man made and it was later covered by the water when the sea levels rose. Researchers of the Israel Antiquities Authority estimate that its age must be more than 4,000 years old.

There are speculations that the discovery belongs to the ancient city of Bet Yerah, which was one of the largest cities in the area in 3,000 BC. Soon an archaeological expedition is going to excavate the area in search for artefacts and in an effort to determine what exactly the structure is and what is its actual date.
