Member Benefits and Reward System

Our intention from the start of Ancient Origins has been to foster an open community where people with a passion for investigating, understanding, and explaining ancient mysteries and human origins can discuss their ideas, views and/or research. We have therefore implemented a member point system which will reward you for your role in developing and participating in this community.

With this system, once you register, you will accumulate points for logging in, visiting and sharing content, writing articles, inviting friends to join the community, and commenting on articles. In the future, you will also be able to earn points by posting in forums, or taking on other roles (if you wish), such as moderating or editing.

Why should I participate?

Communities connect people from all over the world, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds for a common interest.  By participating in such a community you can make contacts, share opinions, find answers, engage in debates, learn new information, inform others, gain or give support, and most importantly, enjoy yourself.

For the professional members of our community, it is a chance to demonstrate your expertise, and for others, it is the chance to reach out to a pool of potential experts and engage prominent academics and researchers in discussions about topics that really matter.  Our number one objective at Ancient-Origins is to get to the root of the origins of mankind and the fascinating journey we have taken over thousands, if not millions, of years. We believe that this can only be achieved by great minds coming together.

What can I get with my points?

Members who accumulate points will receive the following benefits:

  • You can redeem your points for gifts such as books, art, crafts, and more
  • Enhanced reputation and recognition within the community
  • Opportunities to become a moderator or editor at Ancient Origins
  • Further benefits to be released in future, including free subscription options and eligibility to participate in competitions

How do I earn points?

First you need to register on the site as the member point system only works with registered users.  As a member, there are a number of ways you can earn and accumulate points.

Here's a list of the current opportunities:

  • Login – 1 point (maximum 1 per day)
  • Write an article that is approved for publishing – 10 points
  • Sharing content – 2 points (TBA)
  • Commenting on articles – 1 point for each comment
  • Inviting friends – 2 points (TBA)

Comments that are not meaningful and appear to have been posted simply as a way to accumulate points will be removed, as will the points associated with those comments. You will also only be able to earn a maximum of 1 point a day for logging in. This is to prevent people logging in and out simple to earn points. However, there are plenty of other ways you can earn points and there is no maximum as to how many points you can earn in a day.

How can I check my points?

You can view your points and rank by clicking on ‘My Points’ on the top menu of the site.  Your points will also be displayed next to your username when you post a comment on the site.

Our Mission

Ancient Origins seeks to uncover, what we believe, is one of the most important pieces of knowledge we can acquire as human beings – our beginnings.

While many believe that we already hold such knowledge, our view is that there still exists a multitude of anomalies and mysteries in humanity's past that deserve further examination.

We therefore wish to foster an open community that is dedicated to investigating, understanding and explaining the origins of our species on planet earth. To this end, we aim to organize, support and even finance efforts in this direction.

Our aim is to move beyond theories and to present a thorough examination of current research and evidence and to offer alternative viewpoints and explanations to those currently held by mainstream science and archaeology.

Come with us on a journey to explore lost civilisations, sacred writings, ancient places, unexplained artefacts and scientific mysteries while we seek to reconstruct and retell the story of our beginnings.
